Alum: My experience at Eldorado was actually decent. The teachers care about helping you take in information easy. The school truly prioritizes mental health and inclusivity. There are many electives and clubs to get involved in. The school sprit is spectacular, especially during school assemblies. The campus is kind of outdated, but is slowly being renovated. Parent: I have 3 children who have attend Sandia Vista. My oldest is now in Middle School and if it wasn’t for the amazing teachers she would really dislike school. She struggled with ADD and at no time did they ever treat her bad but they engaged and encouraged her more and helped her to find ways to stay on track without ever suggesting she should take medication. My other 2 kids have been apart of the Amazing Montessori program at the school. We were so lucky to have the option of both tracks at one school. Niche User: It's been a really good school with the exception of 3rd grade. The teacher my kid had was terrible. He was very unhappy the whole year and we really couldn't do anything about it. By the time I figured out how bad this teacher was it was too late to change teacher's. The other 3rd grade class was full so no way to get in to it. Parent: All of my children attended MAS Charter School. I have two daughters who have graduated from MAS and have both gone to college. My youngest child is still attending MAS and this school was instrumental in helping my children. My oldest daughter was not proficient in reading when she started 7th grade, yet graduated as an advanced reader thanks to MAS! Parent: I absolutely think Coral Community Charter School lives up to every aspect of their name! They are MORE than a Community, it's family! The staff is so close knit and they take the time to get to know each student and their families. I appreciate that Coral does not treat my children as just another number in their system, they treat them as an important human being that strives for greatness and gives them the tools for success. My children were given a Personal Education Plan (P.E.P) from the beginning, which tailors to their personal learning and social-emotional goals. Senior: My few years as a high school student at Manzano have been interesting to say the least... I have never been one to be intrigued by trivial matters, but rather larger issues that affect my community and I directly. My peers, which i have acquainted in high school, are those who will join me on a quest to a well rounded future. I have learned through the years, that not every friendship is worth fighting for while others may last an eternity. Alum: The teachers were very nice and cared about the students. They cared about our safety and education. They tried very hard to make sure nobody fell behind and if someone needed help the teachers would try their best to help the student. The teachers taught well, but put hardly any focus on science and social studies. The only thing we did concerning social studies throughout all of elementary school was learn the names of the states and watch videos about the revolutionary war. Each year we would only do about one or two units for science and each year they were the same units! Each year the only science I would learn about the different teeth animals have and the science behind making toys. The school puts a lot of importance on math and English, but not science and social studies. There are lots of extracurricular activities to participate in and the teachers are exceptionally nice.... Junior: I moved to this school at the beginning of my sophomore year. The main reason I transferred was because I had heard very good things from one of my friends about the agriculture program here. The counselor and the admin team were great, setting me up with the classes I needed, transferring credits and helping me register for dual credit The school was virtual for my first year. Once I was able to come in person it was great. The students here are all very nice and very non-judgmental. The ag program was fantastic, and the ag teacher is amazing. They have a really cool program called Edgenuity, which allows students to take other classes not necessarily offered through the teachers at school. For example I took an anatomy class on Edgenuity and loved it. By far my favorite part about this school though is the dial credit opportunities. By the time I graduate high school I will be halfway done with my bachelor's degree and ready to get started in college and move on to medical school!... Read 68 reviews
