Parent: I want to add my support as the parent of two recent Bancroft graduates. As much as it was clear while my kids were still there that Bancroft was a great school (both in terms of academic strength and in terms of inspiring, caring teachers), I didn't really understand how great it was until they started college. Both of them went on to highly selective colleges (one of them with a $100K merit scholarship), and when they got to college, they just excelled. Something about the Bancroft approach to inquiry and curiosity, writing, public speaking, and self-advocacy was the perfect alchemy for college success. They were both much better prepared than their college classmates, and both ended up being a go-to resource for college friends who weren't as strong at thinking independently, writing, and participating in a college community. Parent: Whitinsville Christian School is not just a school, it's a family. One of my girls has attended K-2 and the other just completed K. They feel loved by all the staff every day they walk in the building, which even includes staff at the front desk and teachers they haven't even had yet! As a parent, I feel like the staff care about me as well. Everyone is always so welcoming. We've built relationships and my children are excited to go back to school in August. They miss their friends and teachers. The other night, my youngest prayed that she could hug her teacher again. I contacted her teacher and she met up with us just so she could get that hug! WCS is not just a school, it's an extension of your family. The academic aspect of the school has put both my girls beyond many of their peers who attend other schools. Parent: My three children have been attending SLA for five years now. The school feels like family! All the teachers know and engage with my children, even if they haven't had them in their class. Because it's a small school the students get lots of one-on-one instruction and all can participate in sports or music, not just the top 10%. My kids are participating in the honors program and are on track to attend competitive universities--I attribute much of that to the extra attention they get. Parent: I have 2 children enrolled at Bethany Christian Academy. The small class size and compassionate teachers ensure a quality experience for each and every student. My Kindergartener is reading well above expectations and can efficiently and independently work on math addition and subtraction. The K students are speaking Spanish, and most importantly are focusing on God's Word as the base for every subject. The Kindergarten teachers are amazing at helping each child. My Seventh Grader loves to learn and there are so many hands on projects and activities to really get the children engaged in learning. My daughter is reading at a 10th Grade level in 7th. Senior: One of the best parts of my experience in Auburn High School were being able to be with my friends and hanging out with them inside of the school. They’d support me and I would do the same for them for whenever they needed it, I respect and like the friends I have made here at Auburn High School when I joined in Junior Year. Another part were being able to meet the teachers who were all really nice and understanding towards me, when I had a problem they’d do their best to help me with it during class, either that be in or out of class. Also, how they always had after school days so I can ask them about anything I was struggling with in their class. I don’t know if there were any worse parts of my experience, I really enjoyed being in AHS for my junior and senior year, all the school activities I did there such as field trips and dances were really amazing! Alum: As my neighborhood public elementary school, it was small but satisfying. The education I received from West Tantack was great, and it was rare to hear parents complain about their child's class or teachers. My only complaint would be that when I attended, the school lacked diversity, although the English curriculum would be inclusive and have stories and projects of all different walks of life. Senior: I believe that Clinton High is an amazing school. It being on the smaller size means there's a great sense of community, and that there's enough staff that students can be personally connected to their teachers, councilors, and other faculty. The school also does an excellent job preparing its students for their futures, with teachers who genuinely care about their students. I believe my only complaints are due to the effects of the pandemic, which I believe would be unfair to hold against the school. One thing I'll mention is that I had a hard time fitting in early on when I transferred, however again, that was likely due more to the pandemic and being online for my first year than the school itself. Junior: As a current junior in high school, my experience at Fitchburg High hasn't been anything but superb. I have grown up within this schooling district and although there are many flaws that I and others can speak on, I feel that these flaws make Fitchburg High unique. As a present student within the district, it is my and other students' jobs to change those things if we want to make things better for future students such as bringing in more diverse staff and curricula which has been one of my main goals thus far. Nonetheless, I have experienced and gained so many opportunities at these schools that I am overwhelmingly blessed to say I have had the chance to be a part of, and I can't wait to further my academic, athletic, and occupational journey here.
