St. Andrew's-Sewanee School
Parent: I had known about St. Andrew’s- Swanee (SAS) for many years when we looked at it for our son. He attended a highly competitive (and high pressure) 6-12 school that was just not a healthy place for him. Thank goodness we decided to make the journey up the mountain to SAS. Our son is so happy there. The teachers are kind, supportive, and encouraging; the curriculum uses the large, beautiful campus for everything from science to farming; and the students are so friendly. The advisory group conversations have included how to practice empathy, and how to talk to people with different political beliefs. My son reports that the teachers are very engaging and excited to teach. SAS uses not only a “small class” approach, but also a “small school” atmosphere where they look out for each other. It’s been a big commitment for our family because we drive about 30 minutes to the SAS bus, but it is so worth it when our son gets in the car and says he had another great day!
