Alum: For the most part, they have some really wonderful teachers. They recently hired a new younger male teacher (I won't say which grade he teaches) and he comes across as being arrogant, rude and lazy. Other than him, they have a good caring bunch of teachers and staff. The cafe workers are wonderful always fun and serve delicious healthy foods. The school nurse is fantastic as well.

Senior: Roosevelt High School is a good school. I'm almost going to complete four years of going to Roosevelt. Overall my experience has been breathtaking. What I love about Roosevelt is that it's very diverse and acceptable. There are many different activities to choose from and your free to be whoever you want to be. Roosevelt has many electives, music, sports, and clubs you can choose from. At Roosevelt, many teachers care about you and want to see you succeed. Teachers here always try to find ways to make the class more engaging so that students learn better. Yes, not everything at Roosevelt is perfect. For example, it is a big school. Yet, I would like to see the administration form closer relationships with the student just like the teachers do. Roosevelt should also add some more resources or programs for college readiness. All in all, my experience at Roosevelt has been outstanding.

North High School

- Sioux City Community School District, IA
- Rating 3.72 out of 5 188 reviews
Senior: I am a senior at north high school, but like any senior I’ve seen Lots of changes through out my four years. Hallway expectations change, policy’s whether it’s about cellphones, computers or headphones. This school tries to encourage their students to work hard. They offer after school help and they even have Saturday school for those who want to come and work on their assignments. Some teachers stay with you one on one to help you. If you fail a class they offer you it online to remake that grade you failed. Overall I think north high is a good school to go to. You can always find a way to make it if you seeks for help !

Senior: The arts at Denison are excellent! The music department (especially the marching band) is first rate. Between our middle school and high school band we have around 300 students!
The breakfast and lunches at Denison are wonderful. Fresh fruits and veggies every day. I felt like my education was excellent and that I am ready for college.

Centerville High School
#5 Niche Standout High Schools in Iowa
- Centerville Community School District, IA
- Rating 3.53 out of 5 38 reviews
Senior: I have enjoyed my 4 years at Centerville High School, we have an excellent band program offering Jazz, Marching and Concert bands. The school also has a variety of sports offered all year long- Soccer, tennis, volleyball, football, bowling, cross country, track and basketball. There is also an opportunity for kids to participate in vocal concerts, fall and a spring musical always offers a different take on a play. Some changes that I would like to have seen would be more Clubs offered. Another change that I wanted was a ACT prep class and this was the first year that was offered. Also sometimes it is hard to get into a class because of them only being offered at one time.

Lenox High School
- Lenox Community School District, IA
- Rating 4.14 out of 5 7 reviews
Senior: I liked my experience at Lenox High School because it is very diverse. We have people from different religions, races, and family types. I feel like having all of these factors have shaped me into a great person. The teachers here have also helped to make my time here a great experience. I know if I need someone to talk to, I know several people who would listen. The teachers try their best to make sure everyone understands the material. They take the time to go over things with the students that are difficult too. Another great thing about our high school is the community around it. The Lenox community is very supportive of every event, sport, or fundraiser put on by the Lenox students. It makes our kids feel great knowing that no matter what they perform in, someone will be there cheering them on.

Newell-Fonda High School

Parent: Good selection of college credit classes, some very caring teachers. Too much emphasis on sports--not enough on the arts or high interest electives.
