Alum: DSST has an exceptional amount of diversity, which in turn, creates a more accepting and cultured environment. I have not seen or experienced any kind of bullying here; in fact, being different is a good thing. The teachers are passionate and care about the students there, and spend many hours after and before school assisting students in both school and home problems. They definitely prepare you for college; they actually over-prepare you and freshman year seems like cake! The sports program isn't the greatest, but the academics are. One criticism I have is that they have a large focus on getting into college, but not how to stay. Alum: Atlas is a great school for me. The size of it is small, with classes having an ideal average of over 20 students per class. The teachers are approachable and benevolent, while the students demonstrate good behavior and character, making the school environment have a positive vibe. Students strive for success to prove how academically well this school is. Speaking of academics, there are honors and AP classes for those who want to be prepared for college and diverse options of electives, from art to construction. It was tuition free as well as a close proximity from where I live. Junior: Personally, I am very satisfied as a student here at KNDLA. The teachers are amazing, who help the students out with anything, big or small. The students there are also very helpful, organized and gratifying. There are countless things that I could say about this amazing high school, and its people. Junior: As a student for 2 years so far, I love the diversity in the school and the opportunities that are being presented to us by our deans and teachers to provide for us an excellent education and a pathway for further pursue of higher education like college, and the practice provided for college classes, Overland High School has a lot of CE and AP classes that anyone can take and get a 3 or higher on the test and get college credit, most importantly the teacher are the most hardworking faculty members of the school by giving us the knowledge we need to achieve great things in our future, and help each student individually, and school is constantly being a landmind of information about volunteering opportunities, internships, certifications, apprenticeships as well, And on top of that Overland High School has great athletics involvement as well each students can find their own passions in the school recourses that are being provided for us every day. Alum: Rangeview overall is outstanding in both academics and culture. I have never visited or seen a school with more progressive ideals than the home of the raiders. This school heavily focuses on STEM academically with many resources being provided by counselors for life outside high school and during high school. They are always open and caring when it comes to your scholarly career. However, when it comes to other areas there are some things they can work on. The food quality has not changed since I have been there. They serve a chicken sandwich every day along with a meal of your choice. You get to choose either one, however this can become very repetitive and challenging to choose a food that is to your liking. Every so often, terrible smells come from the schools plumbing that fill the entire school. Most classes I was in opted to leave the building to get away from the smell. Senior: DSST: College View High School is a school located in Denver, Colorado next to Loretto Heights. Our school building is also shared by the middle school, which is convenient for the majority of students. Although parking is scarce and our cafeteria is a few walking distances away from our main building, our school has overall shown dedication towards college success by administering organized internship and senior project classes that are college requirements. On top of this, our school is ranked as having the most FAFSA filled applications in our network, the most diverse amount of clubs in our network, and many applications submitted for the seal of biliteracy. Many staff members I met, have said that this school has a perfect and healthy environment that all students can strive in. Junior: I am returning as a junior in the fall, and though I've barely been going there for two full years, I can say that I have enjoyed my academic experience. I appreciate how hard working and resourceful my teachers are in order for me and my class mates to graduate on time. I know that I can trust my counselor with whatever questions I have in mind regarding my academic high school journey. I can guarantee that many students there know that Harrison High School really does whatever possible to ensure that we are on the right track to succes. There are still some things that could change. I think that our school should have a more diverse population and have more interactive activities to create a more positive environment. I also believe that some parts of the counseling system should be changed. Alum: The Denver Center for International Studies served me very well over the course of my five years as a student there. I participated in both the middle and high school programs and have been adequately prepared for my life outside of high school. The supplementary classes were deeply enriching and fostered critical thinking and writing skills. The school culture of DCIS is a tight-knit community with teachers that care about students as young adults, not just students. Student voice and leadership is also a key part of the DCIS paradigm, which I was involved in throughout my time at the school. While the school suffers from a lack of funding, which impacts some opportunities and facilities, I am extremely grateful for the time I spent at DCIS. Alum: DSST: Cole is a school not only that teaches its students the importance of teamwork, communication, and prepares them for college; it is also a school that ensures that you get the most opportunities for programs offered outside of the school, SAT prep, and even aids in applying to college and ensuring that you get as many scholarships as possible in order to pay as little as possibly for any and all colleges. They helped me develop skills that not only made be a better student, but a better person as well. Each teacher wants what’s best for their students and they work even outside of the classroom to ensure that each student has an understanding of the material that is being taught. They may seem strict with their required office hours (when students need it) but they truly want each student to have as many opportunities as possible. Senior: The school is amazing and does everything it can to help the students meet their goals! My only thing that bothers me is that once you reach senior year the staff expects you to be self sufficient, especially in the college search process, so they will answer any questions with directions to how to get to a website instead of actually answering your question. The focus on freshmen and sophomores is fantastic and the teachers are all amazing! The interventionist are also amazing and ready to help you where ever they can, including meetings during the school day (they wont tell your parents if you don't want them to) to help you sort problems.... Junior: As I go into my Junior year at Centennial, I have no regrets about attending. Most of the students are involved in programs/clubs, and the counselors are always pushing to help get more students involved. The counselors are always honest and help us achieve our dreams while also making backup plans. The teachers are typically either amazing or terrible, there really isn't an in between but the experienced teachers typically perform better (unsurprisingly). Senior: I think Greeley Central as a student has allowed me to explore myself and become open to so many opportunities I didn't know I had before. The staff and teachers and great, they're willing to help students and supply them with as much as they can, and when they can't, they find another person to help. Preparing for college so far has been good. Teachers are planning out an entire week for us to get the knowledge and help we need to prepare for applying, knowing what we are looking for and how to make a good application. We have tons of clubs that there is definitely something for everyone. Our sports are good, could be better but it's always a fun game to watch escpially with how freaking awesome our marching and pep bands are. We have great teachers who are passionate about teaching their subjects. It's obvious during their classes and they are excited to teach their students about it. Our AMP and HSA are amazing. Parent: This school meets the needs of every student, whether they struggle or excel in studies. Many of the staff have their masters degrees and can teach college level courses and want your kid to succeed where they are at. Look at the teacher student ratio! My kids have attended a bigger public school and have also been homeschooled; this place is the best of both worlds.
