Alum: I loved this high school, there were so many paths to choose from. They offer courses at the Donaldson center, fine arts center, they have several classes here, and they always make sure students do their best in the core classes. So many amazing teachers and faculty working here! The AP classes are amazing as well, they really get students prepared for college level classes while improving their overall GPA in high school. Senior: Daniel High School is a great school. We have a very diverse population and are set in a college town. There are many activities to participate in including football, basketball, soccer, track, golf, swim, tennis, baseball, softball, cross country, student government, band, cheerleading, dance team, orchestra, theater, language clubs, etc. There is a way for everyone to get plugged in. We have very diverse course offerings, from dual credit to AP to CP to general education. Our county has a state of the art career center with many opportunities to help with college and work after high school. The teachers at our school are supportive and work hard to make our education challenging. Due to our setting in a college town we have a lot of diversity due to being so close to Clemson University. Junior: Great school. Very large and feels like one big community. Sports is big part of culture at Byrnes and really brings everyone together. Band is also a large part of the school and competitions are frequent and exciting. Overall, students here really enjoy themselves if they get involved with events going on. Teachers are very personable and catering to students. Administration is efficient. Still, due to the large nature of the school and the absurd amount of students, there are quite a few "problems" that happen and must be resolved with regards to students doing things they should not do. Junior: My high school experience has been very immersive and diversified by the opportunities and programs offered at my school. With an international baccalaureate program as well as multiple advanced placement classes and dual credit options, I’ve been able to grow my knowledge as a student immensely and get to know my interests and niches. We have a very incredible staff that is open to ideas and constructive criticism, known for taking students ideas and making them become a reality. I’ve always felt that my opinion mattered and other felt this way too. An example of this is when a small group of people came together to propose an idea to our English teacher. They wanted a speech and debate club. He immediately jumped in this idea, did his research, consulted other staff members, and soon there were posters around the school and the first meeting was set. Senior: I have been in Woodruff High School for 3 years now, going on 4 years. This is not a bad school; however, they have the chance to become an amazing school if they gave students a little more freedom. At Woodruff, students do not have a chance to actually be how they are. Dress code and even teachers restrict students. This causes students to dislike Woodruff and causes resentment towards said school. I understand how dress code is trying to cause "distractions" but it's not allowing students to show their full potential. Things like piercings, tattoos, and shoulders are all allowed in the real world, so why not school? These piercings, tattoos, and overall accessories were chosen for a reason and they institute students personalities. Senior: Ever since the beginning of high school, things are giving me a nostalgia, which kept the whole display and the school pride into my memories continue on. I was thought of how it could go wrong about the education, the school know it doesn't, because they had an amazing teachers I've seen in my classes and other classes, and it giving me a pride to this school as a Viking. The surprising part is that when the pandemic came in 2020, they are always be there no matter the problems we face, and that is shows the Viking will never give up. All my teachers are great and have many events going on at the Vahalla during lunch. Including bake sales, Coke, Crush, and Kiss, month events, and so much more exciting. This has bring me a best time to be in this school in my teenage year, and the more the schools expected, the more confidence they are together. Senior: I have attended TL Hanna High for the past 4 years and I graduate tomorrow! I have enjoyed my experience here very much. Junior: Many teachers at Easley love their job, genuinely enjoy interacting and helping students, are passionate about the subject they teach, and are well-rounded. While some teachers are not as involved in the classroom, the majority of them are very good and make sure the students know the subject thoroughly before moving on. As for sports, our teams are not the best, but the school still supports them and many people go to the games. The art department is also large, with several art and music teachers, several bands, and a nationally ranked marching band. However, the guidance and administration are very hard to work with. They often promise to help with scholarships, testing, and other essentials, but then fail to deliver or deliver extremely late. The school may not be the cleanest, but this is also due to a lack of custodians. Overall, this is a very good school and I would recommend it despite the fact it has some problems.... Senior: Pendleton High School is a good school. We have a number of programs and extra curricular activities, high graduation rates, a fantastic faculty and staff, and we are located in a great area. My biggest issue with Pendleton High School is something you see with a lot of schools. That being, the majority of funding goes to the sports programs. Our CATE programs, while they have good funding compared to other schools, do not get the same funding our sports programs get. The only other problem I have with Pendleton High School is they require more classes than the state mandates to graduate. For example, I am a senior who has previously completed 3 lab sciences with high ‘A’s. Senior: I went to Woodmont high school my freshman to senior year. My experience there was very good. I made a lot of friends, some in the same grade as me and some in different grades. I tried hard in school to get good grades and my teachers helped me a lot with that. The teachers at Woodmont not only would help me learn but they also became people who I could rely on if i needed help with anything aside of school. Before Covid happened Woodmont help many events to make sure the students would still have fun at school and so we could get to know our classmates. Even with Covid the school still did what they could to make sure people were involved and having fun. In my high school years I wish I would have gotten more involved and would have made more friends. Junior: I wanted to start off by saying that I am very thankful for everything my school, Hillcrest High has done for me. To review my school in their teaching of academics, there are many variables to take into consideration, for example, student performances, teachers efforts in teaching, teachers teaching methods, students effort in learning and many more. Therefore, my review can vary, but to give a more precise review I would say that Hillcrest High School's academic program from my perspective was wonderful, because I was able to take advantage of it and learn many things! One of my favorite things about Hillcrest was the diversity it had, I was able to meet many amazing people! Sophomore: The curriculum and classes in the school are high quality, challenging, and most if not all of the teachers are amazing at their job. The school offers various courses for freshman to take, and if the student meets the prerequisite qualifications, they also have fantastic higher level courses that will make your student apply themselves. The school schedule overall is perfect, not cramped or stressful at all. Students here get all the help they need, and have time to go to tutoring for each of their classes at different times during the week for free. Senior: The Anderson Five Charter School has been a fantastic experience. Even though I have attended here relatively briefly, my teachers and peers have been so welcoming. The teachers here are always ready to help when questions are presented and are constantly accommodating to each student's wants and needs. My guidance counselor, Kena Steeple, has been so incredibly helpful when it comes to state tests and scholarships. She diligently works with me through my long lists of questions about college and my career path and never makes me feel like a chore or "just another student."
