Eastside Catholic School
- Private School
- Sammamish, WA
Alum: Overall, I had a great high school career here! It was everything I could hope for in a high school - the teachers are fantastic, and everyone is really kind, even across social barriers (such as jocks and band geeks). They also are famous for their great treatment of handicapped students - they often got to be homecoming royalty, and were treated very kindly by all types of people there.
My only complaint is that as a co-founder of the marching band, the school tends to not give much attention or money to the music program despite its outstanding record and awards won every year. Even when students got to travel the world based on musical achievement or the band went to state championships in multiple areas, there were no announcements unless we pushed the administration.

Senior: The amount of help that we as students receive is unbelievable. In Houston Gateway Academy, the students come always come first. There's no limit that the teachers and staff will go to in order to make sure that we succeed in life. We're more than just a paycheck to them, we're a family.

Middle School Student: I loved this school i liked how the principal is really involved in this school and you will always see her in events and helping the students. You can always be having a smile on your face here in this school. And so much courage to go to college thanks to this principal named Mrs. Klein. I always look up to Mrs. Klein because she is so helpful and positive. I would not change anything of this school because it is excellent just the way it is.

Senior: I am currently a college student at the University of Houston, pursuing my dream on becoming an elementary school teacher in the near future. I did my student observations at Schmalz Elementary School and the staff, parents, and students were so welcoming! Due to the fact that the majority of the students come from low-income families, this school ensures that the students get the proper nutrition and support they need in order to succeed and even survive! This school has definitely changed my perspective in regards to teaching and looking out for others. However, the only thing I dislike about this school is that it is hidden behind a highway. Most of the schools in Katy ISD are near shops and neighborhoods and most people do not really know about Schmalz Elementary School.

St. Stephen's Episcopal School
- Private School
- Austin, TX
Alum: I loved my time at St. Stephen's. The teachers are exceptional and the lack of AP classes means that they don't just teach to the exams but what is most interesting to them -- which usually translates into much more interesting class time! I felt like I was more prepared than most of my college peers (at an elite school nonetheless!) -- my writing was better, I was better at time-management. The only thing I would change is that at the time the student body was not especially active in clubs/non-sport activities, however I think this is slowly changing.
