Senior: Savio has a very welcoming community. The main thing I found unique to this school was the teachers. Most of the teachers and staff were very involved in the community and were really there to help the students succeed. There are also many different classes, clubs, sports, and activities that a student may participate in. Overall, I felt supported from some teachers and the friends I have made at the school. Parent: My child has been at St. Ignatius for eleven years (since PreK 3). As a parent who grew up in a small town going to a very small school, I was looking for that same type of experience for my child. There is a very close community feeling in the school and the students are not only encouraged, but mentored on giving and volunteering in the community. I have found the academic experience to be well above average. Class sizes are small (one per grade), which allows for peer relationships to be formed and mature over years. There is clearly a diverse demographic at the school. I would recommend St. Ignatius without hesitation to anyone looking for a close knit community feel in the middle of a big city!... Parent: We have been at St. Louis since my son was in Pre-K. He is now in 3rd grade, and we have always felt a strong sense of community, which is something we longed for having moved here from another state. The teachers and staff at St. Louis show genuine love for the students and for the roles they play in our children's lives. It's a friendly environment and, as a parent, there is plenty of opportunity to meet other parents, get involved and make a difference in our school community. St. Louis has been a huge blessing in our lives - it's become our home and a place my son loves coming to. Parent: Our family is thrilled to be a part of the St. Gabriel's community! We made a change from EISD due to its Covid response and the realization that the academics were underwhelming at the elementary level. Our children are thriving and reaching their full potential with the loving and nurturing guidance of incredible educators. We love that in addition to a more rigorous curriculum there are many opportunities for project-based learning, robotics/coding starting in PreK, and a true focus on SEL. We are impressed with the confidence gained by regular public speaking beginning in the earliest grades and are motivated by the service-learning opportunities. The St. Gabriel’s community feels like a family and helps us be an even better version of our own. Parent: We LOVE St. Helen School! The staff and faculty are wonderful, and the overall environment is extremely solid. The faith-based culture is just what we wanted for our children. The academics are challenging, with advanced students having the opportunity to continue to grow. Parents are encouraged to participate in many different ways, but there isn't a requirement to volunteer that is crammed down your throat like at some private schools.
