Sawgrass Springs Middle School
#3 Most Diverse Public Middle Schools in Miami Area
Middle School Student: My experience at this school isn't enough for me to describe as AMAZING--but I would be misleading you if I said I regret attending. There are a variety of students, personalities, cliques, and groups, so a student is bound to find one that suits and welcomes you. The number of courses isn't huge but is extensive enough for me to feel comfortable in an advanced course versus staying in a normal, less-challenging classroom environment. However, as the majority of schools are, finding the arts is challenging. There are available high school courses for science and math--but none for language arts or history. What I feel SSMS most lacks is providing the students with knowledge. I didn't know things such as how to switch classes, report behavior, address coming in late, etc. I had to find this information out via more adventurous classmates and snippets in the halls. But, I love the students so very much and some of the teachers have managed to touch my heart AND my brain.
