Alum: When I attended Union Public Schools from 2011-2018, it was a really amazing school. There were many resources available to students free of charge that would help them succeed when success seemed too far to achieve. I have a little brother that attends Union currently. I wish that they would honor is IEP more so that my parents could send him to school with confidence that he will get the help he needs. Senior: LPS is great because of the way they provide multiple different resources for academic success such as enrolling in concurrent classes, advanced placement programs, honors programs, and the Life Ready Center. At the Life Ready Center LPS provides different career tech classes, along with FFA, Languages, FACTS, etc. This gives different opportunities for students.. With that being said LPS schools have never failed to further my education t have over the years helped me be where I am academically because of the resources they have given and/or provided for me to use as student.... Senior: I like that there are so many ways for you to get involved and make new friends. They are many clubs, organizations, and electives that you can join/ participate in in order to branch out. They make sure that you also have fun while you learn by having different events and activities throughout the school year. Senior: I have been a student at Ada City Schools for my entire life. I have made amazing connections with my teachers and created lasting friendships with my peers. One thing that really makes the school great is how giving and involved our community is in our school. Churches, businesses, and even individual citizens are always ready to jump in and serve the Ada City Schools in any possible means. However, one piece of criticism that I have to offer the School System is that they seldom look outside of the district when filling positions in administration. Don't get me wrong, I love it when loyal faculty get promoted, but sometimes it appears as if the position is filled by a staff member that has been in service longest, even if they are not as capable as someone outside of the district.... Junior: The majority of the teachers I’ve had the pat two years have been very helpful in assisting me with getting ready for my future. My teachers helped me stay focused and on task, now I do those things automatically. My psychology instructor specifically has been one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. He makes sure the classroom is a safe space for everyone and wants us all to do well in the class, genuinely. My employment essentials teacher during my freshman year really assisted in deciding what my lifelong dedication will be. We did a K12 assessment and it described accurate occupational fields that I was naturally interested in. Sophomore: I love going to byng and I think all of the teachers are great and have a purpose to educate us and make us happy. I would like to see us get a volleyball team though. Senior: I just graduated from Epic Charter schools and I was able to graduate early due to the amazing teachers that helped me along the way. I joined Epic Charter School after covid hit and I stayed online for the last 3 years of highschool. I enjoyed online through Epic because I was able to complete assignments when I had the time as long as it was done by the due date which can be adjusted to your schedule. I could work full-time and work towards other goals while still in High School. Sophomore: My mother teaches at the High School here in Pryor, so I've been waddling the halls since I was able to walk. In the past few years, the environment physically has changed for the better. However, the atmosphere within the social community has changed for the worse. Not only upstanding students, like myself and some of my friends, have felt this, but teachers have as well. The problem goes past our control at this point. It saddens me. I'm a sophomore and I've been ready to become a part of the High School since I was little. My expectations socially and behaviorally were not met. However, the environment within organizations you are involved in is IMPECCABLE. Everyone is so nice to people they have things in common with. Senior: I have loved being a Claremore Zebra. I wouldn’t want it any other way. The teachers and staff encourage us students to follow our dreams. They get us ready to walk across the stage with a high school diploma in our hands. The only bad thing is the food. I used to eat in the cafeteria, but it started making me sick. Now I bring my lunch. My favorite part of being a zebra is the performing arts they offer. It’s the best part of my day going to choir and drama. Junior: The experience at Atoka Public Schools is extremely good. All the teachers and staff help in any way they can. The building is very clean and all equipment is up to date. The students are nice and have their groups. There is a very safe learning environment. Everyone is very positive and tries to help whenever. There is always school staff willing to help. They have a very diverse group of students. There are many classes to chose from and every sport but hockey. The STEM classes are many. There are several Music and Arts classes for every grade. The food is not as good as students would like it to be but it is healthy. They have an open salad bar, sandwiches, and hot food everyday. Senior: I started school at Poteau in my Junior year of high school. Overall it has been an amazing experience! There are very few teachers that aren’t loved by their students and it’s a very down to earth environment all the time which is nice because you always have friends to talk to and a groups of people you feel comfortable around. I like that the environment is controlled enough that everyone is nice to everyone while still being able to have freedom in a place that is often found to be not fun and not well treating. I feel like the teachers are well equipped to educate their students as well as love on them and take care of them when they need it. Freshman: I am a student at TPS and I’ve yet to experience anything conflicting to my educational experience. The mental health resources have been improving, as well as the learning experience. Physical education has been excellent at TPS for quite a while! I would most definitely recommend this district over most surrounding ones. Senior: Fairland Public Schools is more of a family community. It is definitely a very small school, but that is what makes it such a tight-knit community. We all know each other and care about each other. For example, a few years ago a woman that was a big part of the community passed away. We had a bunch of fundraisers and raised a lot of money to help the family. Every time something happens, we all come together as a family and help each other out with whatever the other needs help with. The school itself has wonderful teachers. Senior: Central truly is a great school. It’s welcoming and the hospitality is amazing. Most of everyone gets along but if there’s any issues with that, the staff handles the problem fairly well. The teachers love helping their students and constantly check up to see if we understand the curriculum.
