Junior: What I like about Gwinnett County Schools is the amount of cultural diversity. As a result of the diversity, I was able to participate in a variety of clubs and organizations that encompassed the diversity mentioned. Gwinnet County has also attempted to keep the community at large informed with regards to racial relations and educational classes to help educate all on biases. In addition to the diversity, I also enjoy the diverse academic programs offered. Gwinnet County has an excellent STEM program where I have participated as a RISE STEM student since freshman year! Our School in addition to our cluster schools won an award for STEM innovation and transformation in 2018! The STEM program helps prepare you for the outside world as the classes offer diverse learning styles from hybrid learning to co-op college classes while in high school. Junior: I am a junior at Carrollton high school and have been in the school system since pre-k. All of my years in the system have been great. The teachers mostly seem to be involved in the education of their students, with a willingness to help. The school is very diverse, and I feel as though all the students are respected in the level that they deserve. The campus is very open, and has a very high level of comfort and safety as we as students navigate the campus throughout the day. The administration has rules in place that I feel like apply in all circumstances to help make the system maintain a great environment for the students. The teachers are great! As a student, I can see their dedication to their job and their excitement while teaching in their own convenient and beneficial way. Senior: Marietta City Schools is an excellent school system, particularly their IB program. I've had a fantastic experience as a student taking the IB Diploma program, with plenty of resources and facilities being readily available to aide me. The teachers and staff are very respectful and knowledgeable, and assist students in any way they can, either educationally or emotionally. The overall college readiness resources are very good as well, with 2 dedicated college advisors on campus available to take appointments for any questions a student or parent may have. They also provide lists of scholarship opportunities and hold seminars and boot camps regarding college admission, guiding both students and parents through the confusing and stressful process of applying to college. The environment of the school is excellent, with a well maintained campus and new state of the art building dedicated for CTAE/STEM courses. Alum: Glynn County school have been the best thing that has happened to me. Considering moving here from Ghana, I did not know what to expect but it was great. The teachers are caring and want you to succeed. I’ve been able to achieve my high school goals as well as get into a great college and i would not have been able to do it without my high school, Glynn Academy. My little brother is currently at Glynn Academy and he is excelling. In the past, he has issues with being able to retain information but the school have been able to accommodate him and get him the help he needs. He is now doing better than ever. They are always plenty of clubs to join to help your resume look good. I was also on the girls soccer team and we were like family. Senior: One thing that I like a lot about Henry County Schools is there is a school called the Academy of Advanced Studies; this school allows people from all Henry County Schools to attend more career-based classes. Alum: I liked the Experience for the most part. The teachers would be helpful resources at times and some even showed enthusiasm in their lessons and I really appreciated that at the time I went to Lowndes. Freshman: I have attended Liberty Elementary and Midway Middle School, and I am currently attending Liberty County High School. As a district they need to fix the bus transportation. We wear uniforms, that is not a problem in my opinion, what I have a problem with is that they put kids in classes that are not beneficial to them. Careless kids are in classes that students should really value, while kids that care the most are in classes where they are not given what they need to succeed. Liberty County High School gives children so many opportunities to get involved and succeed, but sometimes it seems like the school cares more about how they look on the outside then the students opinion and feelings on the school. Alum: The Troup County school system is similar to really any other rural school system though I would argue that it finds itself in a better position than other similar school systems. There are a wide selection of upper level courses such as AP and even College courses that you can take if you a really want to start ahead in your college experience. However, there are some lapses in the technological advancement and some facilities are in desperate need of a total reconstruction. Lagrange High School in particular is left behind when comparing the other schools when comparing fine arts facilities and only recently constructed a new gym even though the previous gym quite literally was on the point of caving in. On the bright side, there are many personable, effective, and fun teachers that definitely helped me excel in my studies. You can tell they care about the subjects they teach. Senior: The school food hadn’t it’s moments of being good but most of the time was unappealing. I think they should re-assess there bidgets when purchasing Technology. Alfred Ely Beach High school had outdated slow “Think Pad” computers. When I went to Best Buy, a Chromebook was cheaper than the to date Think pad laptop and I believe it would be more efficient. Teaching has improved tremendously over my years learning. Beach highschool needs more attention in regards to funding, even if it isn’t as prestige as Woodville or Savannah Arts. Dual Enrollment should be kept up and encouraged. The educational tactics at Bartlett STEM middle school needs to be applied to all middle schools. And my opinion applies to Pulaski Elementary as well. By looking at my grammar, you can also take note on what kind of employee is needed. I still don’t know where to put commas sometimes.
