High School Junior: My experience at Clements High School has been an exciting rollercoaster ride. There have been times where my academics aren't as great as I would like for them to be, but there is always the opportunity to redeem yourself by working with your teachers. The student body is very competitive, especially the higher you want to get in terms of rank, but we're still friends at the end of the day. One thing I have noticed, it is that when it comes to friends, the school is divided into 2 types of people. There are the type of students who have great friends who love meeting with one another, but also don't meet up too often because of school (tests, quizzes, studying, etc) - who tend to be the students in all honors courses and tend to overwhelm themselves with too many rigorous courses. And the second type of students is those who are more relaxed on their course load and who can meet more often and have great friendships with their friends at various school events and meet out of school. It mostly comes down to a split in those who take all honors versus those who take mostly regular/standard level courses. I personally have dabbled in both sides and have not let that barrier stop me from enjoying myself at Clements, as there will always be something for you to do. Something unique to Clements is the level of spirit and pride that our school has in itself. We have spirit days where the entire school partakes in a celebration of the spirit day. For example, for the spirit day of character day, everyone would dress up as a character, or for pink out day, a majority of students wear pink (and those who don't tend to stand out, which motivates them to help out and be a part of the cause). It isn't uncommon to feel like you have a second family within the organizations that you participate in as everyone cares for one another. Without a doubt, Clements is my home away from home, as I know that I can count on it no matter what.
