Middle School Student: This middle school is a great school, this is because they care alot about the student's point of view. The staff also bend the rules, *ahem* sugar nutrition*, but the school is very fun. I rated it 3 stars because of students in the school. The students have started acting roughly towards the staff. Although the student's have fun, they sometimes can't handle even the simplest jobs of sitting. I don't wanna speak the bad, but it has to come out someday though. But another reason this school is great is because despite everything in the school. Everyone helps one another in the school, regardless of age or race, or anything. Senior: The teachers and staff are very kind and care a lot about our education. While TCA is labeled as a college prep school, I would not necessarily describe it as such. There are AVID classes which can be nice but PSEO is not talked about much at all. I have done PSEO for 2 years and I recommend it to a lot of people at school. Middle School Student: I have been going to Capitol Hill since 1st grade, and I love it. We do so many amazing projects, the teachers are amazing, and I have made a lot of friends here. If you are looking for a good Elementary school or a good Middle school, try Capitol Hill! People with disabilities, such as autism, are fully accepted here. Works Here: It’s a wonderful diverse community. I felt that my voice was being heard when I needed something. While I went to John Glenn Middle, I was new to the community. Though I was nervous, I felt very welcomed and accepted into the community. I felt very safe in the environment, and I felt safe because of the teachers reassurance. While I was also being taught, I gained very beneficial knowledge that I still use today. Now being in high school, I’m reflecting on my middle school years, and looking back, I enjoyed it very much. School wasn’t too pressuring and while I was learning, I enjoyed going to school. I wasn’t overly stressed with piles of homework. I was able to enjoy my youth while getting my education.... High School Student: I've had so many great opportunities here at Skyview it's just unbelievable! I was able to compete in very many competitions to challenge my math skills, geography skills, and other areas. Also in 7th grade, I got to see President Jimmy Carter give a speech at the Augsburg College through my school! Also, I got to see a play at Park Square Theatre in Downtown St. Paul, which was literally the best thing I've ever seen! Alum: My experience at Creative Arts was great! With the different types of art forms and more. I enjoyed it a lot, especially when it comes to performing. You're given multiple opportunities to see art outside of schools as well. The teachers their are excellent at making connections with students. Being able to provide help for students when needed and extra attention if needed. Although it's a small school, majority of the staffs and students know each other really well, regardless of age and grade. This school has grown so much from sharing a building with another school. Works Here: Here, teachers really care about the learning of students and spend time to develop thoughtful lessons for classes. Students are very diverse and are accepting of one another. Students have electives to participate in such as advanced French, band, choir, art and music, and other programs include a partnership with Urban Boat Builders that has seen the school hand-build five watercraft in the last three years and the REAL Leaders program that provides mentorship to African American males. After school, a full range of sports teams as well as the "Flipside" afterschool program provides a fun break from the academics. The school also has a dedicated ASD program and provides a setting 3 EBD program for students with greater emotional and behavioral needs. Alum: This school had a tight schedule. I wish there had been more time in the day and could have taken more classes. I think the SPOT program had fun activities for students during the summer. The school's program allowed me to take higher levelled math and English and I grew a ton. I think more classes should engage the students to be creative and develop their thinking. They should explore all areas and possibilities in many fields. The teachers need to help students participate and make the classes more interesting.
