The athletics and arts programs are well funded and have won many awards. The diversity at Booker T. is the best in Tulsa, Ok. Junior: I enjoyed my time at Lawton High. Their history, traditions, and school spirit have all contributed to the much fun I've had. Senior: I came to Harding Charter Preparatory High School in 2019 as a freshman with no friends. I did not know what to expect, but I knew it would be a significant change from my previous school based on Harding's excellent academic reputation. I was quickly welcomed with open arms and taken under the wings of the teachers. I was not treated as just another student but felt a personal connection with everyone. Harding has been my home for the past four years, and I have loved every minute of it. The workload was sometimes intense, but it was all worth it and has paid off. Thanks to Harding Charter Preparatory High School, the teachers, and the students, I now have 13 college acceptances and will attend postsecondary education for free. Alum: My experience at Putnam City High School has been a positive one. My teachers encouraged me throughout my time there and prepared me as much as possible for entering college. One of the things that I liked about Putnam City High School is the recognition they gave to all of the Class of 2022 Seniors because we made it through 2 years of COVID. We went from having normal lives in school to having to go 100% virtual and back to a somewhat normal routine. The main thing I loved during my Senior year is being involved with leadership. We participated in several volunteer activities, one of which included teaming up with special needs students at a Yukon school. That was a lot of fun and very rewarding. One thing that I would like to see changed is hiring more teachers. There has been such a shortage of teachers that the students pay the price for it. Alum: My high school experience was like any other high school experience, except for the fact that my school was more of a tight knit community, or a family. TSAS, when I was there, was not the high school + middle school it is now, and that is what makes it so great, they always believed in room for improvement, growth. Our mascot is a phoenix, if that isn't enough! It was never that "hoity-toity" high school everyone was dying to get into, but once you get there, learn about yourself and grow a little you start to realize that going to THAT school isn't what it's about. Senior: My experience at Westmoore high school was a rather great experience. I absolutely loved the involvement and unity found in the school. The staff and students were very involved in numerous extracurricular activities to display school spirit. The school was always open to help others in any way! Senior: Ada has a lot of tradition and I love it. I get to be in the Ada Band and we always hold a lot of the tradition of Ada High School and even the town. Every football game in the fourth quarter, we would play a tune called Light Up which was a get-up and dance around each other songs to get the cougars to win the game. Oh, how I love it. Teachers are also a great part. I always received a lot of help on my work because the teachers cared about me and my grades and were willing to help me get through. I always struggled in school because me falling into a deep state of depression in my early years of school and it made me struggle with learning new things and it has affected me through my later years but I get the help I need and it has helped me improved. I hope later in life I can have my kids go to Ada because of the amazing things they do in the school and just how fascinating all the programs are. Senior: I’ve only been at MacArthur for a year, but what I’ve seen in my time there is the inclusivity and involvement of everyone in the school! There are so many clubs and sports available that there is sure to be something for everyone! I’ve done cross country, track, key club, astronomy club, FBLA, NHS, FCA, and the musical all in one year. People will reach out to you whether you are new or just looking to become more involved in the school. The teachers, staff, and students are all so kind and willing to help. While there are less academic courses offered than many other schools, there are still many AP options as well as dual enrollment at Cameron University or VOTEC. Senior: My experience with Coyle High School was amazing. I don't think there's another school like it. I enjoy basically every moment there. Many of my favorite memories are from that school. I meant so many friends going there. It's nice going to a school where everyone knows everyone. It may have a little bit of a downfall, but it's a way to connect with everybody.
