Senior: I've been at West Brook for all four of my years. The first year was perfect and all I had dreamed of for being a freshman in high school; my sophomore and junior years were a bit offset by the global pandemic, and I struggled to retain any information during most of these two years. My senior year, which is still currently where I am, has probably been my worst year so far, but not necessarily because of the staff. In fact, many of the staff actually care about a decent amount of our safety, and few teachers I've had have cared about the education aspect. The problems that I've noticed this year have come from mainly the underclassmen. They haven't had a full school year in class since middle school, therefore they don't quite understand how to behave. Acting out is not what is considered "cool," but they seem to think it is. This school stands out in academics, the safety of the environment, and in its ability to provide for the students and staff there. Also, the students and teachers are generally encouraging and friendly with one another. The atmosphere promoted here is inclusive of many kinds of people no matter their differences. However, I think that this school could inprove by reworking its sports regime for students interested in athletics, despite its past victories. Junior: This school was very eye opening because I was new to this district. I use to live in Beaumont and so when I had the option to choose whether I stayed or to leave, o decided to take this opportunity to expand my knowledge. Did I regret it? No! This school was amazing! The teachers and faculty at Nederland High School are very encourage and are very hard working individual. I admire that from them. They are always there for students who are need of help. I don’t think anything needs to be change about this school because the teachers and faculty are amazing people. Junior: When I first came to Memorial High School, it seemed really big. I like all the different types of diversity this school has because it allows us to meet new people with different cultures from ours and allows us to learn about their cultures. This school also has a good variety of food to choose from. They have four different lunch lines and they offer two or three different types of food to chose from. They could, however, work more on their staff, because I have many classes where we don't have a teacher or we only have a permanent substitute. Senior: Overall, the environment of PNG High School is encouraging and productive. There are activities offered to every type of student. The academic and athletic achievements of the students demonstrates the time and effort that is put into student success. The only negative of the school is the 'everyone gets a trophy' mentality. Leadership and honor roles can be given to almost anybody in order to not hurt feelings. However, for the students that have put in work to receive those honors get through into the mass. Junior: At West Orange Stark High School, they're a lot of pros and cons to attending this school. It's inside a good, small environment in Orange, Texas. We have a really good football team. NFL player for the Seattle Seahawks, Earl Thomas III, graduated from here. Recently, our school had made it to the state championship in football, twice! They won the championship in 2015 but lost in 2014. All other sports aren't very popular and don't win many games except football and volleyball. Overall, the education there is pretty good and it has improved over the years! The education use to be very poor, now I say the education is fair! They have some good teacher but they also have some horrible teachers. I'd say I'd give the teachers and administration and 6 overall. They just need to find better teachers and AP's and get more involved in the community with the clubs at the school and get better coaching staff for other sports besides football and volleyball.... Junior: I like how many options that we have to chose from. The school has multiple classes, clubs, organizations, and other extra curricular activities that you can be part of. I think that there could be more activities such as pep rallies, programs, and other things that could give students a little bit of a break and help them appreciate their school more. They could have fun activities because there are not many as of right now. I also think that they can hold more activities that parent participation is encouraged or how activities for students and parents so everyone is involved. Senior: My experience at Hardin Jefferson High School has been amazing. I recently moved here and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. Senior: Many people underestimate the potential that comes out of Beaumont United High School solely based on its location, but I believe that Beaumont United High School is one of, if not the best school in the state of Texas.
