Roanoke Catholic School
- Private School

Senior: Roanoke Catholic is a school that teaches students belong the classroom and prepares them for either college. In the past years, 100 percent of Catholic seniors have attended college and this year the seniors have received over 2.5 million in scholarships. I started Roanoke Catholic two years ago and it was a big change coming from public school. In public schools you could slide by without doing your homework, but at Roanoke Catholic all work is required and graded as a test grade. Roanoke Catholic does not let you fall through the cracks. I also must say the food is outstanding!!
One thing I really did not like were the uniforms. In public school you basically wore what you want, but not in private school. My first year the gentlemen had to wear a shirt and tie during the winter and in the summer a polo shirt with the school’s logo and khaki pants or shorts. This year they changed the dress code to where gentlemen could wear the polo shirt and khaki pants all year around.

Senior: Totally prepares you for college courses and college life! The teachers really work with you and care about you. The campus is 1200 acres, truly amazing. It's an all boys school grades 9-12 with about 100 boys per grade. It's boarding students only (no day) so your friends are with you all the time.

Parent: my Kids are going into their third year at Stephens and we love it. The teachers and staff make this school what it is. They’re welcoming and friendly and keep open communication with the parents. Even better, they meet our kids right where they are academically. We have one son that is in advanced classes and one that needs extra help and gets the help he needs to catch up. We don’t agree with every little thing that this school implements into their learning program but as a whole we can’t say enough good things about Stephens.

Parent: We love BD Elementary! The teachers have been wonderful and very committed to the students' understanding and learning of new information. Our daughter is excelling. The diversity in the school was a major reason we moved to the community and BDE does not disappoint. Our daughter has an amazingly diverse group of friends. We have been very happy with BDE!

Senior: Wayland is a great experience for all students! The student body is less than 200 students and about half of the students are international. Overall, there are students from 32 different countries, which makes this school very diverse compared to all the public schools and many other boarding schools in the nation.
The Academy becomes strict when it comes to academics; They treat the school as if it were a college. The average class size is 14 students per class. With the class size being very small, there is more 1 on 1 times with the teacher during or outside of class.
Although athletics might not be the best, it is good for students to be able to get lots of playing time on the field or court, even though they are not a star player. There are also many clubs and other activities outside of athletics.
Overall, I think Wayland is a great school and I definitely recommend it!
