Parent: All 3 of my kids attend Isla Vista Elementary. It is a super school. The teachers are amazing and the school has a real sense of community. The school really did an awesome job during distance learning and were ready to go from day 1 of lock down.

Niche User: This was the school that I attended when I was younger. While I do not have vast recolection of the education in great detail, I do remember that I did feel prepared for the next step in my schooling after my time attending Buena Vista. I have pleasant memories of the staff and of the atmosphere that the campus provided. The school was located in a safe part of town, and looking back as a twenty year old you plans on being a father, I am very thankful to the staff and administration who played their part in keeping the campus safe for the children.

Niche User: I loved my time at this school. I think back on it a lot and think about how it was the start of my love for nature. All my science teachers were amazing and the 6th grade garden was the most important part of my time there. They tough me so much that I don't think any other school could teach.

Niche User: My favorite experience from this school is the ultimate frisbee team that was established in my fourth grade year. I had never heard of the sport before, but I always wanted to learn how to throw a frisbee well, so I signed up, and I am so glad I made that decision. It was a way to harness us students energy and direct it towards something fun, healthy, and something that was a great learning experience. This school is unique because of the emphasis it places on helping the community. Students are pushed to join Student Council, a group of kids which go to various places in the city with elderly people and give them flowers and cards for valentines day. Also, the school is currently growing organic lettuce, and sells it to people in the community at a satisfactory price, to raise money for children to go to awesome summer camps.

Orcutt Academy Charter School

Senior: Orcutt Academy High School is very excellent at preparing students for a college setting. Teachers at this site treat each student as a college student but is always there to help the student if asked. They care about their students academic understanding as well as their life in general. Pupils do not need to be nervous when asking for help as the teachers explain their job is to help and educate the student so asking questions means they can guide the student better onto the understanding of the topic. The school celebrates LGBTQ community as well as a club. The school welcomes any group or people into their culture. The school has rallies every few months for events where the students complete against each other, or against teams of teachers. Sports at the school are interactive but I would not rate it 10/10, as the reason is sports aren't seen as the number one thing at school but instead its academics. Overall if I had to rate OA is would be 9/10!
