Niche User: I have a child who has attended from K through 4th. When intervention was needed, the teachers are quick to point it out and get the child the help that is needed. Volunteers are abundant and wonderful. I'm very happy to have my children attend this school.

Parent: DVES is a small school with a family atmosphere. The teachers and staff know all the students by name. The student:teacher ratio is low, so the students receive more 1 on 1 individualized instruction. The children are treated the same and not categorized by abilities or diagnoses, but at the same time each child is recognized for individual achievements. Every child is encouraged and challenged to excel higher on every level. Parent/student activities are well planned. Parent participation is excellent. DVES focuses on the child as an individual. Academic achievement is priority, but so are morals, values, and character. Diversity, individuality, and thinking outside the box are the norm at DVES.
We moved from a very large school system in GA to DVES in TN in 2018. At first we were very concerned about the education opportunity in this small school, but we do not regret moving here one bit. We would recommend DVES over any other school in the Nation.
