Middle School Student: Avenues online has truly been a wonderful experience. The teachers are simply incredible, they try and push you to be the best student possible for every class and project that we do, which has allowed me to progress way faster than I ever thought. The different projects that we do have stretched my thinking in many different ways, and have allowed me to learn about different topics that I have never studied before, allowing me to improve my understanding on a wide variety of subjects. Senior: Personally, I would like to state that my experience throughout my 4 years at Chris The King High School has been eventful to say the least. Being part of multiple extracurricular programs, which further invested myself in the schools' everyday culture. Having the chance to participate in the catholic school culture was an influential time and the new setting was invigorating. The teachers and faculty treated the students well and all around it was an environment I would suggest anyone to be able to experience it themselves. Things at this school that I would like to see change is the diversity among the students. From my experience and my school life, that is the only thing I could really see change for. The school life in Christ The King in reality has no big flaws that need changing. Although paying for school was not the highlight of my time there, I do agree that the experience is worth it.... Senior: There are many things I like about Hoosac. The things I liked the most are: small school, small class sizes, most faculty resides on campus which allows me to reach out almost anytime and not only during school hours. I also enjoy that the class schedule is set up like college. This allows me time to get some things done in the afternoon before practice and allows me plenty of time at night to study and hang out with friends. Even though hockey is my primary sport, I'm also able to participate in other sports and activities on campus. Some improvement suggestions would be broader class offerings, sports facilities on campus (this creates student involvement), better communication to parents and of course the food could always be better.... Parent: Storm King is an extraordinary school in every respect. The teachers and administrative staff are filled with integrity and professionalism. Every member of the staff cares deeply about each child--and it shows. As importantly, teachers and administrative professionals are equally accessible to all students. During the pandemic, the entire school acted with bravery and wisdom. They persevered and yet were incredibly careful about maintaining an exceptionally healthy environment. Yet, the most wonderful part of the school is the student body itself. I have never met finer, more caring students. My son loved being here. He never felt bullied by anyone. He was accepted, loved, respected, and cared for by everyone. This school nurtures students both socially and intellectually. Parent: My son started 8th grade in Martin Luther School and his talent was quickly identified. He was placed in Biology and Algebra classes (HS level) instead of Science and Math. By the time he reached 9th grade, he already took Chemistry and Geometry classes. He was at 97th percentile at Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Score and overall, in the 94th percentile at PSAT 8/9 at the beginning of 9th grade. He is all set to take AP Biology as a 10th grader, which generally recommend to have Biology, chemistry, and Algebra 1 as prerequisite. On the other hand, MLS has summer program to help students who are struggling at some subjects. This school is for students with all academic levels and aims to unlock students’ talent! Parent: Administration listens to the kids when they say they need help and/or want to add specific classes. They add new teachers to accommodate students wants and needs as much as possible. Senior: Excellent school! The teachers are accomplished, intelligent, and always willing to help students when they don't understand something. The school is very much involved in the Catholic faith, providing Mass every Tuesday and Holy Hour every other Thursday for students to pray and reflect on their relationship with God. The students are very diverse, friendly, and down-to-earth. Additionally, there are various clubs to participate in, such as Speech and Debate, the Drama Club, and the Creative Writing club. Junior: Mount Saint Michael is a really good school that I am genuinely enjoying. While there are ups and downs, it is all and all fantastic. The school is a good size, a good lot of the teachers show that they genuinely care about the education of the students, offering help for any who need it, and the staff themselves are nice and helpful as well. The only thing that I could ask for is a small improvement in the facility, and that would be a form of air conditioning in the class, as with a class of 20 to 30, simply having the windows open doesn’t necessarily help much.
