Parent: Sagemont Prep School is not just a school, but rather a comprehensive educational experience. When you mention the word school, the mind goes immediately to academics. The Sagemont curriculum is both challenging and flexible. Small class sizes allow teachers to focus and cater to the individual needs of each student. Materials and lessons morph as students progress. The willingness of the staff to create challenging lessons that engage students is top notch. Students are encouraged to take an active role in learning through centers, discussions and projects. In other programs, electives are an afterthought. This is not the case at Sagemont Prep. Students are immersed in art, music, theater, language and sports from the very beginning. Elective lessons receive the same amount of depth and care as traditional subjects. Alum: American heritage is an amazing private school with so many opportunities. The different pre-professional tracks, including pre-law, pre-med, engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, and business are taught by professionals in the real field. The academic workload is intense at times but the teachers are (for the most part) great! The clubs outside of school are also great as well. Junior: I am currently a junior at Pine Castle Christian Academy. Next year when I am a senior, It will be my 15th year at this school. It's the only school I've ever known and I'm so glad I've had the privilege of attending this school. Teachers at Pine Castle Christian Academy truly care about you and furthering your education. At Pine Castle you become apart of a family and have so many people from different backgrounds. The best things about PCCA is the arts department there is drama, choir, dancing, video tech, band, art and photography. You really get to explore your talents and get closer to God in the process. Senior: This school has many great qualities that parents look for in a private Christian school. The teachers care about their students' academics but they also care about their overall well-being. They always offer extra help by encouraging students to get connected with the tutoring program that is provided, which I am very honored to be a part of. There is a vast quantity of extracurriculars that students can explore and from what I have seen, the sports and music programs at RLCA are very welcoming and students work hard to further their skills together as a team and individually. Senior: Chaminade-Madonna is a Catholic private school under the Marianist chapter. It’s a small school with a student body around 500 people. Teachers are always happy and willing to suggest enrichment, tutoring, and out-of-school programs. The clubs are interesting in theory, but some can fall a bit short in their organization and execution. Recently, though, there have been many faculty additions that help breathe new life into the school, and the SGA + ambassadors continue to work on making the student experience better than ever. The academics include AP courses and dual enrollment through St. Thomas University, which is also constantly changing. This upcoming year, the school plans on introducing AP Physics I. Senior: As an IB Senior reflecting on my experience at NewGate I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Because of the small class sizes, I was able to form a tight-knit group of close friends-- many of whom I grew up with from attending elementary school together. Additionally, the teachers care about every single student and I truly felt that each of my teachers went the extra mile to look out for my best interests and mental health. From the "unity trip" where students stay overnight at a retreat to bond with each other to other ice-breakers that happen at the beginning of each year, I found it very easy to assimilate and make friends quickly. Also, despite the school's small size, there are many options for clubs and ways to get involved. For instance, I worked in the school uniform store and also started my own club.
