Senior: I am current senior at SJND and my experience has been great! The student life is great and so are the teachers. Most teachers are good, but some of the teachers aren’t as affective as others so you end up trying to teach yourself. If this does end up happening to you, the teacher would be more then happy to give you extra help! The counselors are also very welcoming and extremely helpful, especially during your senior year when you need to do college apps!

Senior: I have really enjoyed my time at Saint Mary's. With the teachers' true passion and dedication for their jobs and the students' unwavering friendliness and curiosity, my four years here have been defined by a quality education and a vibrant community.
The best part about Saint Mary's is the community. The school brings together students from all over, creating an expansive community that represents students from a variety of backgrounds. It actively strives to ensure that every student feels included in the community with events like the Diversity Fair and a wide range of clubs and extracurriculars.
Also, Saint Mary's e-week programming has allowed me to experience things I never would have at another school, like service in places like the Blackfeet Reservation or Akumal, Mexico — invaluable experiences that have been highlights of my high school experience.
Saint Mary's has truly felt like home for me, and has done an amazing job of preparing for my future. I'm going to miss it!

Parent: Both my children started in Kindergarten and are now in middle school. We see the alignment of the curriculum and how our kids are given individualized academic attention, opportunities in all areas (sports, electives, outside activities, etc), and they truly enjoy going to school! Teachers are really top notch. Our interactions with the administrators on the middle school campus are especially appreciated as they handle issues quickly, thoughtfully, and are never too busy to care for their students.

Senior: Easily one of the best high schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bullying is pretty much non-existent here. The counselors are outstanding. They always make time to hear any student concerns no matter how small. Best cafeteria food I have come across. Sports here are fantastic. As a senior here, I can say Bishop O'Dowd does an amazing job at preparing their students for college. They know how to balance rigorous academics with free time. This school has an abundance of resources from mental health to organization workshops to finals prep courses to catching up services in case you miss school. The teachers here are big on facilitating thought rather than just regurgitating information. There is a beautiful garden area with a pond that freshman and sophomores utilize for science projects and peaceful religion classes. At the bottom of the garden are the chickens and rabbits which are lovely to hold. The school also invests in therapy dogs during finals week. You'll love it here.

Parent: My daughter has had an outstanding high school experience at Head-Royce - I can't imagine a better school for her. I remember thinking, at my initial parent tour, what a remarkably smart, involved, caring, switched on group of adults running this school and inspiring and supporting the kids - this first impression was spot on. The teachers, administrators, deans, advisors, counselors, librarians, etc are superb. The overall vibe of the kids seems great too - lively and fun but also really bright, hardworking and engaged. Go Jayhawks!

Alum: My experience at HNHS was absolutely incredible. The all-girls experience allows young women at the school to discover themselves academically, socially, & artistically in a safe environment that fosters growth. At HNHS, I explored my passion for theater, leadership, music, & global immersion -- all at once. I was exposed to a variety of opportunities, such as the Peer Mediation program, one that was developed when I was a freshman (2015), that allows students to resolve conflicts in a safe space on campus. When I was a junior (2017-18), I had the lifechanging opportunity to travel to Kenya with a group of students through a program called Powerful Beyond Measure. I would not have been able to experience conflict resolution & immersive travel without the support of the HNHS community. My experience at HNHS was both unique & lifechanging -- & I truly believe that experiences like mine are particular to Holy Names. After all, you cannot receive the Noblesse Oblige spirit anywhere else!

Parent: I have two children in the Lower School and have been extremely satisfied with our experience. One of my kids is more "academically-inclined" than the other and I can honestly say that they both receive support to fit both of their learning styles. I can see my older one stretching and asserting himself more this year from the encouragement of his teachers and I see the little one, while she needs more help, feels equally confident and not at all stressed about needing/getting more support. And, bottom line (what matters most to me)–they are both happy and thriving. Yes, it is an "academic" school with a challenging curriculum, but both of my children participate in a number of sports and activities and keeping up hasn't been an issue. I know many families choose this school for the academic rigor and are quite pleased, but as a parent that's not laser-focused on academic results, I can say that it is a terrific school for our family!

Senior: It's a college prep school through and through. It's hard to fall behind because the classes are so small and the teachers are always accessible and consistently checking in with you. We have no official sports teams that I know of, (we do have athletic clubs open to everyone, i.e. climbing club). The administration does their job pretty well, and will get back to you very quickly. In terms of culture, Maybeck is incredibly quirky. Politically, it's is about as liberal as it gets. In the student body there is plenty drug use if that's your cup of tea, although recently admin has been a lot stricter about things. Overall, the reason I rated Maybeck as "Very good" is the teachers and academics. The teachers are super involved, and given the freedom to teach what they feel passionate about. After four years here, I absolutely feel prepared for college level dialogue and to take on the world.

The duo-enrollment program has allowed me to learn how to communicate with others much better, as well as learn how to reach out to my professors when I need help. As a result, I feel very prepared for college, since all of my classes since 10th grade have been at a community college. This school's culture is geared more towards academics than anything else, and I have formed a tight bond with everyone in my grade.

Parent: Our family has been a part of The Carey School for six years now. We love the community, the teachers and the academics for our boys. We couldn't ask for a better elementary school. The ratio of teachers to students is second to none, the curriculum is varied and plentiful. The school trips enhance the classroom learnings and we're so lucky to have an abundance of specialist teachers teaching math, science, languages, technology/tinkering, etc. The level of communication between parents and teachers is amazing and at a level where you feel totally connected. It's a true partnership between school and home to educate your child. The teachers and administration care about your student and your family. Should your child need student support services, the team are proactive and available to help. The standard has been set and now we're spoiled as these are our expectations forever more in education!
