Senior: Upper Darby High school is one of the most diverse schools in Deleware county. Most people say, "that school is overly crowded " or "how are my children going to learn with so many students from all backgrounds ". However, Upper Darby is so much more than what people say it is, it's home to over 2,000 students from different backgrounds. Upper Darby offers students so many opportunities, making sure they too can achieve their dreams. Something which the world needs nowadays. . Essentially we learn to work as a team leaving aside our religions, race, and issues. The staff at Upper Darby makes sure each and every student is aware of how powerful and brilliant they are. They remind us how limitless life is for us, and how we can choose whether our lives change in a positive or bad way. What I love the most about Upper Darby is becuase of the diversity we learn to be there for each other and truly put ourselves in others' shoes, spreading awareness over racial inequality.... Junior: Very Good School! They have great programs like IB, AP, and several higher lever SLCs to choose from. It is a strict school. The staff is awesome in keeping the environment safe and welcome for all students. Northeast offers many opportunities for students who take school seriously. The only con is the environment, it is very crowded and a little hard to walk in the hallways. If you would like to experience the best of NEHS, try a sport and choose a challenging SLC. If you are a hard worker, you won't regret it.... Read 678 reviews

Senior: I've been going to Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School since kindergarten and I've seen how it changed through the years. When I started school here, it was in a decent size building in South Philadelphia, where I reside. School was fun back then, my teachers were great, all of my friends went there, and administration was impeccable. However, as I got older things started to change. My school expanded into 3 new buildings by the timeI reached 5th grade. They opened up a high school in Center City, where grades 5-12 will attend. This was a big change in my life because I've never really had to travel anywhere outside my neighborhood except for vacations. For the first two years in that building, I took the bus. Now ever since I have taken the subway and I'd say by doing that gave me more awareness of my surroundings and I can thank my school for that.... Read 90 reviews

Senior: Attending Haverford was the best decision of my life. The very strong academic curriculum ensures that we as students are prepared for the top colleges and for the real-world in general. Haverford also prides itself on its community; the faculty strongly encourage student involvement, resulting in a tight-knit group that would do anything for each other. The teachers are amazing and endless bonds with students every year. Each teacher is always there when a student needs them to be, and they want to see each and every one of us succeed. Athletics are strong and there are many teams that have been nationally ranked within the past few years, but I'd like to see the administration focus more heavily on athletics as a whole in the near future.... Sophomore: Starting from freshman year, I was greatly amazed by the school spirit, culture, and the dedication from students, teachers and families. It is a school that one must be tested into so academics is very important. However, when you arrive at the school, you will recognize that the teachers are super supportive and encourages all students to do their best and do what they like. There are dozens of clubs and activities throughout the year to incorporate everyone into the school's traditions. The school values musicians and talented students greatly that the large network of alumni supported the construction of a new building for STEM classroom, an theater/auditorium just for the musicians to perform and many more. The environment in classrooms are friendly, opened to discussion and engaging. Almost every student is dedicated to their education and so are teachers who dedicate their time to help students. Olney doesn't really do a good job preparing its kids for college, leave out a lot of important details. Some of its faculty especially security needs to be changed, they don't do there job too well. Kids are always in the hallway when they should be in class. The school communication also needs to be fixed, they aren't good when giving out messages to its staff and student. Senior: Overall my experience with Esperanza Academy Charter High School was leaning on the better side of things. I was fascinated on how school gave opportunities for us students to grow and as well as enhance our education. It was around my sophomore year I soon began to realize that the opportunities handed to us should be used to most it can. Allowing a group of sophomores to take the SAT test because we were acknowledged for our skills in mathematics. Reaching out to the community by offering us to help out and to give back like sock donations, can food donations, etc. I regret some decisions in Esperanza Academy but those moments being regretted just pushed something inside of me to keep striving.... Junior: New Foundations is a very welcoming, diverse & inclusive high school. There is room for everyone of all backgrounds, races & ethnicities. New foundations offers a lot of sports options as well as clubs. The teachers at the school care about the students and will do anything in their power to make sure every student succeeds. Though New Foundations has many benefits there are quite a few flaws. The school is quite small and does not have an auditorium which could limit growth possibilities for some students especially those interested in drama/acting. The school's administration does not take students as seriously as they should. Often when students voice their complaints about some policies the school has established and possible issues they had with teachers the school does not take them seriously. This causes students to often feel unheard. Other than those issues, New foundations is a good school that puts students' education first.... Read 168 reviews

Middle School Student: The diversity is very big. There are all types of races here (besides white). It's about 60% black but the other 40% are all types of people. As for the teachers, they're very nice and caring about students and their job. They will help you with anything. The workload is very light. There are lots of clubs & activities for everyone. Most of the food is very good. None of it is undercooked. Most people are very smart. The only slight problem is bullying. Teachers do alot to combat it but it's still a thing. Not like hollywood movie level, but if you piss off the wrong person, you're done for the year.... Read 1 review

Junior: Lower Merion is a great high school, and I am certainly going to miss it when I graduate. There are a lot of people here with a variety of interests, so you will be sure to find someone with similar interests. There's a lot of amazing clubs and activities at the school, such as the theater program, LM Players (clubs could use more funding though). School spirit and sports are great and highly celebrated (ex. Dawg Pound shows off school spirit at games). Teachers are overall great, and STEM is strong. The music department is especially great! Diversity could be a little better. Facilities are pretty good, and there are a lot of resources for college and more. We have a program called lunch and learn, which is one hour in the day students can use to eat lunch anywhere in school and do work or get help from teachers. Administration could be better, because they sometimes try to hide stuff up. Overall, I love LM and I can't imagine being anywhere else!... Read 253 reviews

Senior: Good School with the best staff, very kind and caring. Great! supports student-athletes, strongly values education, large variety of inclusive clubs, some great teachers that go above and beyond for their students. Teaching styles and amounts of homework vary by class, grade, and teacher, but the overall learning experience has been very good. All of the teachers are so kind to each child, truly encouraging each to their strengths. I am confident that this school has set a solid foundation for their learning path and that they have developed a true love for learning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL! Sophomore: George Washington engineering and science high school, best knows as E&S, is a small, blue-ribbon, high school that I go to. It gives out many opportunities for AP classes and honors classes and sometimes even offers job and intern opportunities. It's a black majority(70% African American) school but is very open and respectful to other races. The school express this during international day and black history month where other important historical races other than African Americans are also taught to our students either through our teachers or the students themselves. Everyone can be very kind if you are kind to them, and everyone respects LGBTQ+ rights and equal rights among all races and all genders. We had many sports and after-school activities before the corona-virus pandemic took effect and they are only great and productive if there is a large amount of students participating in those sports/programs. There are more to say but it would be best if you found out for yourself.... Read 254 reviews

Alum: The best thing about Villa is the environment of its classrooms. Villa girls are encouraged to speak their minds and are expected to do so without fear of 'being wrong' or 'sounding stupid.' Villa girls become truly comfortable asking questions, sharing opinions, or even contesting the teacher; nor do they fear judgement from classmates when speaking their minds. Encouraging young women to feel comfortable in a classroom facilitates high performance in college and in the work force. Villa's dedication to encouraging young women to confidently articulate themselves in the classroom sets their graduates up for real success - I am truly grateful for this formative experience. The big drawbacks: some admin. individuals were difficult to deal with and enforced rules to a very intense degree - which fostered a culture more focused on fear of punishment than growth and self-discovery. The diversity at Villa needs to be improved - there was one person of color in my graduation class.... Read 85 reviews
