Junior: Gwinnett public schools are good from my perspective, however I wish they would make it even better than it is. With my school Mill Creek being one of the best schools in the district it makes it hard to tell what other schools are like in the same district that don’t do as well. With my school being a top performing expectations are high to excel even better than other students especially those not at our school. They expect us to excel however they do not provide all the resources they can, with some of my teachers not having the best abilities to teach, which makes it hard to excel like expected. As well as not being able to go the the school library and study in there as needed, but instead getting kicked out because they do not allow students on campus if not taking a class. Freshman: I’m using this as a generalization because my actual school is not included. I go to Global Impact Academy. It’s a new magnet program STEM school in south Fulton. Needless to say, it’s a really good school! The teachers are very nice (at least mine are; there are a few teachers that aren’t very popular because of their workload or strictness) and will help you whenever you have a problem. GIA offers many opportunities for their students like international trips (Last year, some students went to Panama), job shadowing/internship opportunities, college tours, other field trips, people connections, etc. Of course, you have to do a little probing for some of those opportunities. Senior: The teachers and counselors in Forsyth County Schools are fantastic. They always know how to help you and solve any issues you might have. Freshman: Throughout my whole life, I have always lived in this district since I can remember. I only went to three different schools overall. I can't really imagine myself in another district or school that isn't close here. I cam very open and comfortable here. The diverse is incredible! Here in Clayton County everyone is very open-minded. Of course there will be one or two who quite isn't. The teachers I had were strict but always had their fun ways of teaching. My experience here is enjoyable although there are few concerns I have. I have siblings that have autism and other conditions. It helped me see more in this world where I wished there was professional with a title of helping and teaching kids. I saw that not every teacher has the patience for this job. Senior: My experience within the Paulding County School District was a very positive and supportive from kindergarten to 12th grade. I like the use of the student ID number you were assigned from elementary school through high school. This made transitioning from school to school seamless. Alum: In Coweta County. I went to a school that’s not listed. It’s called the Pentecostal Christian Academy. Where u will inherit Christian Character and fulfill the upbringing of God’s kingdom. The teachers and staff are full of love and education is top tier. There is NO greater school than the Pentecostal Christian Academy. As for lunch time, The food is cooked with love and the chefs (Sonya King and Ellen Miles) make sure no child is hungry. Before we leave school for the day, snacks are given. As for the the first part of the day we start devotion. Where we sing praises and pray to God about our past, present, and future trials and tribulations. This school might not have all we want, but spiritually, it’s the best school I could have ever been to. Parent: We moved to Fayetteville, Georgia from California in March of 2021. We chose our new home, based on the wonderful things we had learned about the schools while researching different areas in Georgia. Everything I had read about the Fayette County schools is true! We were greeted last spring by the kindest staff at Braelinn Elementary School. We instantly felt welcomed by the administration, office staff, and teachers. They anticipated our needs and questions and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. This year we have become part of the family at Rising Starr Middle School in Fayette County. They welcomed parents and students by hosting a very informative question and answer meeting as well as a tour of the campus. We felt informed and ready to start the new year! The campus is so clean and the staff has implemented protocols to ensure the staff and students’ safety during the COVID pandemic. Senior: I attended elementary and middle school at Newton County Theme and the education was rigorous because I was in their quest program. Going into high school, I am graduating from Newton High and Newton College and Career Academy STEM Institute. NCCA & STEM have helped me significantly with professionalism skills and challenged my thinking process. I wish the Newton College and Career Academy could be recognized as its own school. Senior: I’ve been in Rockdale county for majority of my life and the schooling here is great. The schools love the students and give them multiple opportunities to learn and grow as a student. One thing that I live the most is the Career Academy that is available to the highschooler, if you want to start learning about a pathway you are interested in I’d really suggest signing up. We also have some of the best fine arts programs and gifted programs in the schools. The student life is like any other but just more inclusive and driven. Senior: I have grown up in this school since Pre-K and I am currently a high school senior at Central High School in the Carroll County Schools cluster. My overall experience has been exceptional, with encouraging faculty, a number of extracurriculars, and a supportive community in every aspect of our school. However, I will say that Central Middle School, in the time that I was there, had incredibly rude faculty that always held grudges towards students based on who their relatives were or past mistakes. These teachers never encouraged anybody to succeed and was more focused on their wellbeing over any of the students'. I would hope to see a change in teachers and structure there or a more student-based, positive environment. Senior: I had a wonderful 4 + yrs in Marietta City Schools, my teachers were all amazing and helped me to learn in a way that I could retain information. Senior: Gainesville City Schools is overall a good school system. The schools are very diverse and inclusive of the people and the community allowing people to find a new family and friend group no matter the schooling level. The biggest program in the school system is the Band, The Big Red Machines. The band hold a huge part in bringing not only schools together, but the community as well. This varies from football games to the community pep rallies. The connection of the school also goes much deeper than just the extracurriculars, the teachers hold an important part. At Gainesville teachers and faculty are very involved in maintaining the overall happiness and wellbeing of the students throughout the school year. The only negative about the schools is that some students don't play their part in helping maintain the school's cleanliness, and moving forward I would love to see system wide implements to have a cleaner school.... Senior: Kindergarten to Senior year was rough, but worth it. Overall the district is pretty good at preparing students for their future. The elementary schools use the IB curriculum and the middle school uses the IB middle years programme to try to diversify students and to prepare them for the possible IB diploma programme at DHS. CSD administration is annoying and makes useless rules that even faculty dislike. The middle school staff is not very good as it seems like they don't really care about their students. The district is good in requiring a world language (spanish) through almost the entire time. I began learning spanish in kindergarten and I am now a senior, and I speak enough to get around in a Spanish speaking country on my own. The teachers are really good, and some of them even have their Ph.D. I have been with some of the same classmate for the past twelve years, and some people may like that, and some people may not....
