Senior: I love my district! Not only have I been a part of various district-related events, such as the LAUSD Marching band and district hearings in downtown LA, but I've had an overall great time in my high school, North Hollywood High. Yet, the only things I wish that would change from LA Unified is the pace in which things get done. For the teacher strike, LA Unified took about two to three weeks to finally make compromises with teachers for fair pay. Furthermore, when the corona virus outbreak occurred, it took our district about a week longer to shut the schools down compared to the school districts around us. Besides the pace in which change occurs, I would say nearly everything about LAUSD is beautiful. There is great diversity, manageable funding, and a team compiled of family-like members that care about each and everyone of their students.
