Junior: I started attending Texas Connections four years ago. It has been amazing to help me pursue my hockey dreams. I love the flexibility of the classes. It makes it so much easier to get ahead before going out of state for tournaments. When my teammates who attend public classes are stressing over missing assignments and missed days, I can focus on preparing for my games instead. It also helps with college readiness by learning to manage time and assignments on my own. The teachers are always there to help with things you may struggle to understand in the lessons. And they’re always willing to get on a phone call or a zoom call as well. The only thing I would love to see changed is the elective choices. I’d really love to take a photography or interior design class but those haven’t been available yet. Senior: I moved to The Woodlands in my sophomore year, and The Woodlands Highschool welcomed me with open arms in every way possible. From a fantastic marching band, awesome after school clubs, and amazing teachers and faculty, I strongly believe that The Woodlands Highschool is one of, if not the best, highschool's in Texas. The classes are challenging and will push you to the limit to make you succeed. And with the easy access to information about college and higher education this school will have you be prepared for college like no other. The student body is friendly and welcoming to new people, and you will have no problem finding new friends. And the after school clubs are fun and friendly too! Junior: Lewisville High School is an incredible school! LHS is an extremely diverse school as well! This provides students with more than they know! The teachers are very talented at what they do! Majority of the student body has at least one activity at school they are passionate about, and LHS provides a safe learning environment! The teachers at LHS commonly offer a relatable, friendly, and safe space to many students. Mental health is serious in high school, and at LHS I know I can go to pretty much any of my teachers, and know they will help me with whatever I need! Senior: When I first arrived on campus the school then seemed huge and I was unable to find my way to class everyday. I started my 10th grade year here and will be ending my senior year here! It is a very diverse school with plenty of people to connect with. I’ve been able to join and participate in several beneficial things to my education. I’m honored to have been part of the Alief Life Sciences Innovative Academy program, solely offered at Hastings High School, which has opened many doors for my future. Alum: Hi! My experience at J Frank Dobie was a pretty good one overall. I spent all four of my years there and I met some really cool people. I can attest to the quality of the AP teachers, as I took AP classes each year, and I can honestly say they were really good, despite the questionable ability of some of the on-level teachers. There are many different clubs/extra-curriculars I was involved in such as tennis, computer science, and chess. The highlights of my experience would be the friends I made and the relationships I established with some teachers. However, I would like to see a higher budget put into the security of the school, as there were a few different threats/incidents that occurred and still currently go on. Senior: This school is truly amazing. The prestige and passion of many of my teachers is unmatched, and has had a huge impact on my education. Extra Curriculars here, such as the Christian organization I am a student leader in, are wonderful. The extra curriculars have given me a chance to explore my passions related to religion and social work, and furthermore shown me leadership skills. Elective courses at Atascocita are diverse as ever, and every student is involved. One chooses a preferred "endorsement" of study areas, and is then given related classes to take. Junior: Coppell High School is an excellent school! Although I only attended it for a year (during my junior year), it was one of the most fun experiences of my high school years. Not only does CHS have one of the best sports teams, the trainers, coaches, teachers, and parents are all very supportive. Academically speaking, Coppell is excellent. Teachers are always available for tutoring in the morning prior to classes or after school. Any time I faced difficulties in class, my teachers were always willing to explain the concepts again. Teachers went above and beyond to help students. For example, prior to a summative assessment, one of my teachers would be sure to hold a review session during tutoring hours. This sentiment of making students feel comfortable to ask for help when they need it made my entire academic experience great! Alum: I attended Hebron High School for 4 years and had before that attended camps and events at the campus. I had a great time during my student career, meeting amazing friends, making good connections with my mentors and teachers, and getting involved in elective activities and clubs. I was a member of the theatre and choir programs, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed my time in. Most of the staff is very positive and truly goes to an extra effort to make the educational environment inviting and a place where students can grow without being afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. Alum: I was able to have unforgettable experiences at this school. The majority of my experiences leaned towards the fine arts programs at Flower Mound High School, and that is perhaps where this school shines brightest. All the fine arts programs at this school have incredible staff and support from the students' parents. My activities were particularly with the band program, which has become one of the premier programs of the entire state and country among public schools, not just its peers in the D/FW Metroplex. But this level of excellence is evident throughout the rest of the school's activities as well, including athletics. Flower Mound High School is one of the most prolific high schools in UIL Athletic competition.
