Freshman: I love Lowell High School! It's very diverse and has a large selection of courses, clubs, sports and activities. Sometimes the student population is overwhelming, and there are many fights in the hallways. There have been instances where there has been police involvement and arrests. The facilities can range from average to highly concerning. The elevator is often very 50/50 and may not work on certain occasions. Otherwise, the student body is very welcoming for the most part, and everyone can find something they love!

Alum: My experience at FHS was awesome, especially due to my caring peers and the supportive faculty and staff. The diversity of FHS allowed for dynamic class discussions that involved a wide variety of individual perspectives and life experiences. As a larger high school, FHS provided me with many opportunities to take advantage of, such as the practical and fun classes in the Family and Consumer Sciences department. Overall, the people and opportunities at FHS contributed to my positive high school experience there.

Senior: Lexington High School has a reputation for being stressful. Yes, it is academically rigorous. However, the stress is what you make it. I've found that a lot of pressure comes from parents, and the faculty at the high school actually goes out of their way to reduce stress in the classroom provided that you advocate for yourself. The faculty is extremely qualified and we are strong in the arts and sports. The school is diverse and inclusive. LHS does lack school spirit, but in the last couple of years steps have been taken to improve that. It is a work in progress, but LHS is a great school!

Parent: GLTHS has provided my son with an outlet for his creative talent, while making sure of his academic success! My son has some academic supports in place and for a very large regional high school, the supports he has received have been amazing! Every teacher has been aware and adhered to his accommodations. Communication has been excellent between the teachers and I when ever needed. By providing him the support he needs he has been an honor roll student and is now investigating colleges that have mechanical engineering programs that align with his experience in his CADD shop! I am very happy with the education and support he has received at Greater Lowell Technical High School and would recommend this school 100 percent!

Junior: PART 1: If you are a parent considering CRLS and comparing it to neighboring schools such as BB&N I urge you to read through these reviews! CRLS offers notable arts programs and rigorous AP courses.The diversity in this school is great, with countless languages, and religions represented in our large student body. It is important to note though, that with this diversity comes challenges. Occasional instances of microaggressions, racism, and lack of forethought from administrators are some of the flaws here.The socio-economic differences are apparent, and friend groups while mainly diverse, are skewed more or less wealthy.We are politically active and kind, but like many high schools, bullying and online drama still exists. Note that pep-rally and football culture is low. Knowing the culture at places such as BB&N I am sure that Rindge is more accepting, but the academics and opportunities take more time to really take advantage of. Rindge has a strong relationship with Harvard.

Senior: Everett High School has a very safe environment for students and everyone to express themselves, making this a very diverse place. For me, my school kept on changing their curriculum and making this school a vocational school where they focus on having their students planning their own future through their academies and pathways of different majors. This means for my own class, we are still not used to the changes in our school and weren't able to fully take that opportunity to explore the careers, compare to the younger classes, but I was lucky to be part of the Health Science Pathway. I really hope that EHS will engage many students with new involvements and sports and making this school more spirited and prideful.

Senior: I really enjoy attending Newton South High School. All of the teachers I have had the honor of learning from are amazing and the school culture is great! The school is very welcoming for any incoming students every year. I am proud to be part of this community. Newton South offers many extracurricular opportunities, and I have even had the chance to start my own charity service club! Academically, I can confidently say that Newton South is exceptional. With many honors and AP classes offered for any subject, I have had the chance to explore many different topics and interests of mine. So far, I have had the best experience attending Newton South.

Senior: I liked the friends and bonds that I made at Acton Boxborough. The teachers are overall very kind, generous, and want the best for you. The school events such as football and basketball games were very fun. I was very fortunate to have good friends that I could always rely on. I think an area where AB fell short was how competitive and stressful it could be. At some points, it seemed like academics were all that mattered and not the student's mental health. AB could do some more fun events for their students to be a stress release in the future. Overall, I really liked Acton Boxborough!

Alum: Overall, I had a great experience at Natick High School! The school had access to lots of great resources and technology, especially lab equipment for science classes. I was able to take a biology class that did labs that are typically only offered in college settings, such as doing bacteria stains. One thing I wish Natick did a better job of would be connecting students with summer internships. Although the school offers an internship during the spring of one's senior year, it offered little connections for opportunities during the summer.

Senior: Westford Academy was my favorite school to attend. I have had by far the best four years of my life at this school. I was able to take a variety of different classed that I enjoy taking, and I have met so many new people here. The teachers all had the best personalities, allowing me to connect with them on a higher level. I have noticed that my mental health was improved, because the teachers are great at making sure I understand the content we learn. I found my passion at this school, due to having the ability to change up my classes and see where my interests are. I have noticed that I have achieved academically, because I have always found motivation because of my interests in the subjects. Overall, my experience at this school was amazing, and I could recommend it to any individual pursuing in quality education.

Parent: I have two daughters in this school. I am very much pleased with the honors courses curriculum. Teachers are very supportive and there is abundant of resources for the students. They offer after school programs, advanced placement courses, plenty of clubs and most of the sports. The teachers are readily available by email and quick to respond to. Years back we were debating to move to neighboring communities due to the high rating of their school systems but I am glad we decided not to as WALTHAM senior high has everything to offer what other schools do and even much more. The families have to be involved and kids have to outreach!
It’s a very diverse community and I am glad to be part of this!

Senior: LS is the perfect High School! The faculty care about the students, the classes are interesting, the workload is manageable, and the activities are fun. I was part of the LSB Players (Theatre) when I went to LS, and the productions are high quality and the group is fun to be around. As a student who took the highest AP leveled classes in every subject, there were times I was stressed about completing all my work, but I always got it done. The teachers are always available to help you, and there isn't much competition among the students to be the top because we don't have class rank.

Junior: Arlington High School provides students with the resources to succeed in academics, sports, and extra curricular, but it is important for students to take initiative in utilizing those resources. There are many rigorous courses available to take, taught by extremely qualified and intelligent teachers, however there are some classes and teachers that are difficult to learn from. The social climate is great because although there are many small groups and cliques, everyone is pretty kind and accepting to one another. Sports are a huge part of the school culture and involvement in them introduces you to a new group of friends immediately.

Senior: Winchester High School holsters a tight knit community with amazing academics. During my time there, teachers were great and cared about each student's success.
Most of the counselors and administrators were super useful and provided students with many resources. (However, there are a select few counselors and administrators who to be quite frank... are unhelpful and at times rude to students)
The building is brand new and is easy to navigate. Technology is integrated throughout the building especially in areas like the library, language lab, and C wing classrooms.
Overall, WHS has prepared me for college and is a school full of resources. If you are considering moving here for the public education, I'd keep it in your top choices.

Sophomore: Overall, it’s a pretty good school; however, there is no school spirit. Also, the bathrooms are filthy and always locked. There are some amazing teachers and other teachers who should’ve never been hired. Honors and AP classes are usually academically challenging, but some are a joke. Senior: BMHS has great faculty who are willing to help students reach their best potential. Unfortunately, not all teachers are extremely helpful but the ones that are really make a difference in student's academic success. Many teachers will stay after school for as long as you need going over the same concept and will always be willing to answer questions, even if you're just passing them in the hallway! Another great aspect of the school is how many clubs and groups there are to join after school. The school provides numerous ways to be involved around Billerica and also to help other students in the school. Alum: I had a perfect, amazing high school experience at Belmont High! I graduated back in 2016. I lived in a little two-family home near PQ park, and attended Butler, then Chenery, then BHS. Kids at the school are generally really nice. I was on the freshman girls soccer team, then swim team. Hockey for 4 years and rugby for my last 2 years. Also,I loved doing chorus all 4 years. The math, science, english, history, and music departments are great! The foreign language department is horrible though. If you make decent grades/try your best, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting into the college of your choice. I was accepted to the Umass Amherst nursing program and honors college. I am so happy that BHS set me up to do great at college. If you are considering moving to Belmont for the schools, I highly recommend it. I'm still best friends with my Belmont friends and we often talk about how grateful we are to have grown up here.

So, if students belong to minority groups they can experience the feeling of not fitting in or being misunderstood by their peers. Senior: At Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, being able to expand your education by choosing a trade caught my eye because it’s more opportunity after high school. Alum: My time at RMHS was very memorable. I had a lot of ups and downs. I was apart of a sports team all 4 years and that it was made my experience the best it could have been. I met a lot of people through that. RMHS is not a very diverse town, you do not see much color and a lot of the kids come from affluent families which is definitely something that impacted my way of viewing the world, not a lot of them know the value of a dollar. The teachers are superb, they were always ready to help students and stay longer than they were required. They even came to sporting events and other events students participated in which really showed how much they cared. Parent: Phenomenal private school in the heart of Boston. We had heard great things about Montessori for pre-school but never imagined the impact it would have on our daughter, even at home! She quickly became independent, self-directed, and more aware of others needs at three years old. She would come home and do things we had never imagined she was capable of doing.

She is now in second grade. She loves school because the lessons are just challenging enough because they are made for her. Every child has their own learning plan, rather than being forced to do work that is too easy or too hard as a group. The mixed age classrooms, which seemed unconventional are perfect for self-esteem and drive because kids aren’t labeled as gifted or challenged for their “grade.” She is encouraged to learn skills through her interests - currently the Titanic- which the teachers apply to math, science, reading, etc. Then, stands up in front of her class to shares what she learns - at SEVEN!

Alum: I had the privilege to attend Learning Prep School from the time I was in fifth grade and until I graduated in May 2019. Prior to Learning Prep School, I was not advancing like that of my peers and continued to fall behind. However, this changed upon my switch to Learning Prep School. I immediately began to improve, both academically and socially. The faculty at Learning Prep are truly some of the most dedicated people I have ever seen. Each day, they ensure that every student’s needs are met. My time spent at Learning Prep School was truly some of the best times of my life. Currently, I am a sophomore in college and am taking a full-time course load of five classes. Strategies and methods taught at Learning Prep School have helped me succeed in this environment, as I made the Dean’s List in the Spring 2020 Semester. Learning Prep School is truly an amazing place and I would not be able to share this success story, had it not been for the school and the selfless faculty.
