Senior: Colorado Connections Academy has incredibly sweet teachers, who are active in the students education careers as they want to see students excel. If there are any troubles with the material covered in each lesson, the teachers are learn to help. The school as a whole is good, for it keeps everyone up to date on everything that is happening at the school. As far as academics, the education is moderate as well as excelled. Which is super beneficial for each level the student is at. The learning is completely self paced, which makes it easy for it you take your time with material covered per course, or whether you tend to work at an a accelerated speed. Honestly the only thing I feel would need to improve is just more resources provided for each class. Such as extra resources to help better the students understanding, if needed. The way they organized testing is very doable and clear, driving wasn't an issue because the testing centers would be very close from where I live. Parent: I have been a teacher at this school for 19 years and my daughter has been a student for 11 years (since PreK). We both love our school. It's not perfect. If you are looking for a perfect school, it doesn't exist. But I can tell you from an insider's perspective, everyone who works in our buildings gives their all and wants each student to not only achieve academically, but to be a well rounded, happy individual. I love being part of a charter school because the status quo never has to stay. Often parents and staff spearhead positive change. We don't have near as many hoops to jump through. We have an incredible amount of parent support and volunteering. The kids at our school are truly great kids. There is no perfect school and there are plenty of kids here making poor choices, just like everywhere. Senior: University Schools is an overall very welcoming and has a determined environment. Like all schools, there can be some improvements. Communication is always key and students are always provided with guidance from all faculty members! My time spent here was very pleasing and educational. I learned more about myself as a student and as a person! Most, if not all teachers, where ready to work with you and put you on the right path for your life. Whether they knew you or not. Being one of the smaller schools (in terms of graduating class members), the community was very tight-knit. There was more of a "family" aspect to it all. Like we were more than just peers. Parent: Our son is a graduating senior (2023) and we can't be happier at STEM. He was part of the first elementary class (grade 5) and has been at STEM ever since. This has allowed him to develop close friendships with peers, great relationships with teachers and staff, and a solid career path at age 17. He will actually graduate from college with an Associate's degree in Cybersecurity before he graduates from high school! This was made possible with participation in P-Tech and the Concurrent Enrollment programs. He is now well-prepared for college and for life. Joining a club connects you further into the community and help you find true friends, sports are another way to connect with the community. Senior: Liberty is a fantastic school if you're looking for a really good education. It has an amazing faculty and course structure. It's small, so everyone knows everyone else. Everyone who goes to Liberty wants to be there, which is really nice because it creates an supportive and academic environment. The people at Liberty are really nice, and it's easy to make friends. It has a pretty good variety of classes, although most of the focus is on STEM. There isn't a big variety of art classes or languages, although there are some. The English classes at Liberty are fantastic, and possibly the best part of the whole school. However, if you want to do a lot of extra curriculars outside of school, Liberty is probably not the school for you. Time spent doing homework can range anywhere from one hour (on a good day) to four hours. It can be really hard to balance school life with just life. Liberty is a lot of work. Senior: Jefferson academy does an excellent job at preparing its students for the future. With top of the line facilities, teachers, and education practices, I have always felt ready for what was next. The education I received there will carry on throughout all of my higher education. Because of "JA" as we call it, I have a work ethic and ability to study that I would not have received at any other school and I will always be grateful for that.
