Parent: We moved to TCA from public school and have been incredibly pleased with the academic rigor, faculty as well as the kind students and families. It’a a very welcoming school and there are many opportunities for families to be involved. The school does a nice job of providing opportunities for the students to bond and while they do have their groups of friends like any other school, the kids are taught to be kind and accepting of others. My child has made new friends because of these opportunities and I have seen other children have similar experiences as well. The teachers are wonderful and very good at communicating. We have seen quite a bit of academic growth in our child since coming to TCA and are very pleased with the progress. We are confident she will be ready for college when that time comes. Senior: I had gone to public school for most of my education. In the middle of my junior year I had realized I was falling greatly behind in the search for colleges. This is when I decided to transfer to Legacy Christian Academy. Here they helped me quickly get caught up in the search for colleges. I also have been lucky enough to take multiple interesting courses that heavily relate to my indented college major (Mechanical Engineering). Senior: I have attended this school since sixth grade. I feel so at-home in my ESD community. The staff helped us students deal with an unprecedented Covid year and helped us come out of the situation stronger than ever. I am so thankful to the resources that were available to me, even when I was remotely at home: quick email responses from teachers, availability to meet on Zoom frequently, and many other aspects. Senior: The math and science departments are very strong. The English department has several good teachers, but the grading rubrics and expectations for students make it a bit difficult to get an A in the class. The history department is very lacking and there is maybe one good teacher that actually teaches the class. The administration is somewhat flexible with student desires. I am planning on graduating early but the whole process was a bit of a nuisance. The college counseling is amazing and they really do make sure you get the needed amount of attention. Senior: Attending Bishop Lynch was an amazing experience for me. I went here thinking I wouldn't make new friends since all my old ones went to different high schools. Now I've made long lasting relationships with my friends. The education here at Bishop Lynch is great and its dual enrollment with Eastfield college will allow me to graduate with around 40-60 hours of college credit. All of my teachers have been amazing and they really do care about you. The environment they provide in the classroom is really nice, and to me they felt like another friend. Parent: I have friends who are attending various private and public schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area from grades 5 on through 12. In sitting down with the other dads it is undoubtedly true that no school has done more to prepare post the outbreak of the pandemic then St Mark’s. Not only their children but their administration and teachers are out of this world! Not only did the school literally review replace hundreds of things across the campus, they’ve also implemented a fantastic screening program, testing program, and communications program for SARS-COVID19. I know that when selecting schools grades, scores and college admissions are the number one priority. I never thought I would pick a school based upon their ability to handle a medical global outbreak. The school has literally blown us away! Senior: I came from a smaller Catholic school in Dallas there was fear going in. Many come from bigger and more known schools nearby which I figured would be a smoother transition to the one I would be going into. On my first day I was welcomed by everyone and made friends easily. We were all going through the same fear. Ursuline is a sisterhood, and it was vibrantly shown between underclassmen and upper. There was no separation between us. My four years as a student have been amazing due to the faculty, students and those visiting. It is always an adventure with every event including service. Serviam has been our moto and we all represent it with everything we do. We give back to the world and have become leaders in our community. Parent: My child loved the transition from a large public middle school to a moderate sized Catholic school, even though we are Baptists we figured we would try it anyways (My kid couldn't ask for a healthier environment without all of the hazing at big public schools). Since the transition he has made many more real friends; and is finally getting to play multiple sports that were not an option for him before, amazingly he is picking up basketball skills very fast and wasn't able to make the team at Rice Middle School. Parent: We have 6 children who have attended St. Monica. It is an excellent school, and we are pleased with the education and formation our children have received. The teachers genuinely care about the students, their well-being, and academic success. The academics are very good. The students are taught at a higher academic standard and do very well when they transition to high school. My children's high school teachers often say that St. Monica students are the most prepared. The administration is always looking for ways to enhance the school and are open to ideas. The community is the absolute best . The families are committed to their students, school, and each other. Freshman: Coram Deo Academy is a wonderful school for kids who want to be challenged. The work is accelerated and at a higher learning status than normal. For example, a student in the Eighth grade may be completing work that Ninth graders in public schools would be doing. The school challenges its students constantly with difficult lessons but the teachers are extremely helpful. There is a lot of responsibility put on the students to do their own work and have integrity in all they do. Coram Deo Academy is a university model school which prepares the students for the future. The school is Christian but Catholic students are also welcome. One thing the school could improve on is diversity of the student body. The school is predominantly white. There are few students of colour in comparison to the overall student body. Alum: This isn’t just a school to me, it’s my second family. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for the experience I had at POP. I went there from K-12 and I’m so thankful for my years there. The staff are so kind and I always felt like they truly cared for me. My fellow classmates were incredible and I’m still best friends with many of my fellow graduates. POP provided a wonderful education that has prepared me well for college. Senior: Bishop Dunne is a college preparatory school. My experience with this school is that it has readied me for college immensely while giving me great life lessons along the way. There are countless opportunities at this school and many chances to be given a taste of college life whether it is through the school's regular hosting of college visits or having upper-classmen be able to visit certain campuses themselves. Thanks to this school, I've constantly felt welcomed and accepted. Though this school is Catholic-focused, mass and prayer services are a regular thing here. It never feels forced and is always seen as an option for students, a time and place for you to get closer to your faith, find your faith, or seek guidance. Never once have I thought about leaving this school and it pains me to say that I'm leaving this year for college. Alum: The Covenant School cultivates a love of learning through their amazing staff and excellent curriculum. As a recent alum I can attest to the spiritual growth that Covenant offered me. The teachers have taught me more than I can ever express. Covenant inspires the students to take ahold of their education and make it their own. Parent: The teachers are skilled in dealing with multiple styles of learning (kinesthetic, verbal, and visual) often integrating all three styles seamlessly throughout the day during any given lesson, based on the needs of the child. I am not worried that my youngest child with a summer birthday should be held back a year. Every student receives individualized plans, adjustments are made to assist the child where areas of growth are accelerating them in subjects where they show strength.
