Sophomore: Awesome school been there for 7 years the teachers are hilarious, they have a great connection with the students although some classes are hard we work through it, same for after school program the teachers are great and everyone’s happy. LOVE IT!

Parent: I must say that this school has a great formula for school-to-home connections.
I really appreciated the inviting atmosphere that was created for my children as well as others to gain meaningful learning experiences. The teachers were all willing to accept and incorporate any feedback given by me that was beneficial to my child's learning. The office staff is AWESOME!! They are all kind and helpful! My children were very happy at BCA. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Senior: John Curtis Christian is a very family oriented school. All the faculty member will know who you are and form a relationship with you that makes you feel apart of their family. They each take their time and work with you to help you become a better student. It is Christ centered which I love and they are always there to help and support you with whatever you need. I love how interactive the teachers are with the students and they want to see you succeed in everything. There are so many clubs that just about everyone in the school participate in at least one club. When it comes to the athletic teams the student body is so supportive over all the sports. Although everyone at the school had their differences the school always comes to together as one big family and everyone had each other’s back. They offer many different college courses which is awesome. One thing that Curtis can improve is is by trying to make all the senior and junior classes dual enrollment classes.

High School Freshman: I liked this school because it was a very fun place to be and I made lots of great friends there. Also, the curriculum was challenging and it made me work had to achieve good grades. Also, you did not see a lot of bullying.

He has became super smart since entering school last year all thanks to his kindergarten and first grade teacher... with that said I would give this school 20 stars if possible! Middle School Student: A current 7th grade at St. Philip Neri's. I love that St. Martin's is a small close knit community, but doesn't seem small. Access to my teachers is available, and they are always happy to help in anyway, you simply have to ask. Getting involved is very easy and encouraged. There are tons of clubs to participate in and if you wish to start a club, it is super easy. It is very possible to play in multiple sports and still have time for your academics.

Parent: St. Christopher school is a well established, family involved school. I went to SCS from Pre-K-8, and now my three children attend school there. The curriculum is taught in a fun yet challenging way, and the staff members go above and beyond to get to know the children and what works best for each child. My son was diagnosed with ADHD last year, and they have made accommodations for him as well as keep the doors of communication open with me to ease my mind along the way. My children have made life long friends thus far, and everyone has been extremely kind.

Parent: This school is a family atmosphere. You and your family are embraced, welcomed and made to feel like family to all faculty and staff. There have been times where I felt administration has said, commented or added opinions that were not their place and it overstepped boundaries and crossed lines, even if it was meant out of concern or our children's best interest. Some things should not be said or advised when it comes to family/home situations.

Senior: I love St. Martin’s! I transferred to St. Martin’s my junior year and I was blown away. This school is so open and I love that everyone has a voice. The grades are small compared to other high-schools but nothing can compare to the relationships you form. With 54 kids in my grade I am happy to say we are our own little family. Three years ago I would have never imagined myself playing a school sport. Junior year (my first year attending St. Martin’s) I joined the tennis team, and senior year I am now playing tennis and soccer! The kids and teachers at my school do not know how to be judgmental. We all have so much fun participating in school activities because no one is scared of being embarrassed. I love my school and I am excited for the future it has prepared me for.

Parent: The Blue Ridge School has checked every box a parent could desire. BRS has a diversity in both the teaching staff and in the student body. It has a remarkably low student to teacher ratio, which is realized in most classes and translates into outstanding academic experiences. It has the philosophy and resources to effectively engage and direct boys. We have two sons at Blue Ridge and they are both happy and excelling. Excelling in academics, in setting preparatory expectations and in developing the skills and habits for success, in the advising and mentoring they receive, in engaging in new extracurricular opportunities, in developing their character, in broadening them socially, in their boarding experience and living with roommates. There is a brotherhood bond in the students and a bond with their teachers and advisors that is extraordinarily pleasing for our family to observe.

Senior: Randolph-Macon Academy is an amazing school. There’s no doubt about that. Its excellent Air Force JROTC program taught me what it means to be a true leader and to learn and respect everything our military does for this country.

Going to a boarding school did seem scary at first, but you are guaranteed to make great relationships in the dorms. I was very shy when transitioning from a small Middle School where I knew everybody. While this school was a lot larger, I still made many lifelong friends by participating in the school’s sports and intramural opportunities.

When I say the school prepare you for college, it certainly does. Just the fact that this is a boarding school already prepares you for out of state colleges. The military aspect further solidifies your capability to be organized and have proper etiquette. I cannot stress this enough that this school prepares you for real life!

Parent: Our daughter goes to the Pre-Nursery program for 2 year olds (the description on this Niche site says that Preschool program starts at age 4 - not correct) and she is thriving. She is able to recognize letters and count, and loves her music class. There's library session once a week, and very well thought out learning modules. The teachers are excellent and have wonderful communication with the parents. My husband and I were both former teachers at private institutions and we love the school!
