Senior: As an incoming senior, I am proud to say that I love my school. It has a strong sense of community due to everyone knowing everyone. Knippa does a fantastic job of preparing kids for college because of their duel credit program that they have with the local junior college in Uvalde. Thanks to this program I will be graduating with my AA and AS. Although something to note is that Knippa does not offer any AP courses unless you venture outside of the school and pay out of pocket. Nearly all students participate in sports and academic UIL and have been successful in them in recent years. One very lacking thing is clubs and activities outside of sports and UIL. Due to the size of the school, clubs are scarce and the ones that existed didn't last long. A big highlight to the school is that most teachers will go out of their way to help students. In summary, the size of the school influences most of the pros and cons but, if you are interested in going to a small school, consider Knippa.

Alum: My overall experience at Uvalde High School was a good one. The teachers were very kind and always willing to help. I could always come to them with troubles related to the class and they would help me to understand what was going on. The S.T.E.M. program there is very impressive. I feel that it gives the students a well rounded way in experiencing these fields and can help them in discovering exciting new things that they can then, possibly, want to make a career out of. The primary thing that I would change about Uvalde High School is the way that they handle fighting between students, the discipline policy doesn't seem to be enough to mostly prevent this from occurring at least 2-3 times a week. Although most of it likely points to a poor home life for most of the students at Uvalde High School considering the demographic. Aside from this, my experience at Uvalde High School was a very positive and empowering one.

Senior: I enjoy Utopia School because of the small campus size and population count. With only 200 students present, Pre-k through 12th, this only offers a one classroom per grade. This allows for an easier learning experience and less chaotic environment in the school. The teachers are able to work with individuals with more specific issues and makes the learning process smoother. If changes were made present within the school, I would like to see more extra-curricular activities offered and an increased budget.
