Park City High School
#1 Best College Prep Public High Schools in Summit County
- Park City School District, UT
- Rating 4.02 out of 5 311 reviews
Senior: A very thorough high school, offering courses in all sorts of areas including Engineering, Architecture, FACS, Stage Tech, Creative Writing, and even Happiness! Teachers are very knowledgable about their subjects, and are happy to help students to make sure they succeed! You are encouraged to explore extracurricular interests, and have opportunities to earn college credit through Concurrent Enrollment with Weber State or Utah Valley University.
The school itself can be big at first, but you soon learn where all the different classes are taught. Some facilities are falling apart slightly (the roof leaked this spring, a water main burst last winter), but overall very cozy. Student culture is slightly lacking compared to other High Schools, but when an event comes up, StuCo makes sure that it's over the top!
Overall, PCHS is able to provide an amazing high school experience, providing skills not only for academics, but for finding what it is you want to do later in life!

- Rating 4.25 out of 5 8 reviews
Alum: The Winter Sports School was a great experience to have gone through high school. The schools academic calendar runs through the summer giving competitive winter athletes the winter off to compete and excel in their sport.
Smaller class sizes really gives students a more personalized relationship with their teacher.

South Summit High School
#3 Best College Prep Public High Schools in Summit County
- South Summit School District, UT
- Rating 4.04 out of 5 100 reviews
Alum: I truly enjoyed my opportunity to attend South Summit High School. My Father attended there and I really enjoyed interacting with some of the teachers who taught him. The school is staffed by many locals who have lived in the area for most of their lives. I enjoyed being a part of that family. Another aspect of the school that I really liked were the sporting programs. I feel that sports develop many positive characteristics in young teens. This was my experience. I was able to participate in varsity basketball, but not after a working hard to earn it. I tried out for the team my freshman and sophomore year but I was cut. I was initially devastated, but these feelings turned into motivation. I worked hard over the summer and made the team Junior year. As a senior I started varsity. I attribute many of the hardworking habits I have to the culture of the school. A change I would like to see in the school is the dissolving of hostile social groups.
