Highlands High School

Senior: My experience at Highlands High School was overall very good. Considering I am a student involved in everything with many interests, the range of resources, courses, and extracurricular activities was outstanding. The teachers genuinely care about their students, love their jobs, and are great educators. The safety precautions and measures taken, this past year especially, has made me feel the safest I've ever felt. The additional locked doors to lobbies, student ID badges granting access to the school, closed campus lunch, and safety officers has helped keep our learning environment safe and secure in just this past year. Our counselors work year round to make sure students are prepared for their plans after high school and provide countless resources and copious amounts of time to us. Since getting off the KY government food plan our cafeteria food has improved immensely and given more freedom with better food options. In conclusion, I am proud to call myself a Highlands bluebird.

Alum: This Parochial High School in central/southern Campbell County has been a valued resource for over 1/2 Century. Due to the small enrollment #'s, students are exposed to a very personable, learning environment, whereby students are known, and not numbered (as the daunting PS nearby). Though $$ is an issue in attempting to ascertain various teaching aids, supplies, etc., BBHS has been blessed to have experienced a dynamic, Parental involvement (and a dedicated Staff that viably support the School), and take pride in their child's educational, social and spiritual attainment. With the MAC, Mustang fans are able to value their home turf in various sports, rather than travel to neighboring high schools to rent their facilities for sporting events. Hopefully, BBHS can maintain modest tuition costs that enable many Youth in this rurban area to attend this qualitative, Blue Ribbon School, that BBHS has attained recently. Kudos to Mustang Nation!

Senior: Campbell County High School isn't just a school to me it's a home. Over the four years I have always felt accepted, I was never left out. I believe this is because of the great staff and students. The administrators, teachers, counselors, and other adults in the building really care about you and want the best for you. If you ever need anything, they will be there for you. Also, the students are friendly and kind, it is very easy to make new friends. Charles Kuralt once said, "Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students." This quote represents Campbell County well because this is exactly what happens. The teachers are great, so the students are great! I wouldn’t trade my four years for anything.

Junior: I love the small school, family atmosphere. The class sizes are small, which allows individual attention. All of my teachers know me very well, and are always willing to give extra help. They really care about the students and what they need to be successful. The academics are excellent, and so are the sports and extra curricular activities. There is something available to suit every type of student. I feel totally prepared for college, both academically and with sports. The faculty, parents, and students all work together to make our school a happy, successful place where each student can find a place to thrive. I feel very lucky to go to school at Newport Central Catholic and can’t imagine being anywhere else!

Senior: I love that Bellevue is such a small school. Everyone knows everyone. You get to develop some really unique relationships with the teachers and staff. The school is pretty old so it is not in the best condition. The heaters rarely work among other building issues. I feel like they handled things with covid pretty well. Overall I feel I have had a pretty positive experience.

Dayton High School

Junior: Dayton high school is a decent school. The school food is not the best and honestly isn’t enough for the students, but they now have an alternative of a salad and peanut butter and jelly sandwich for student who don’t like what is served. Personally I would have more food and a bigger variety. The teachers this year are doing pretty well. This year more than ever the staff has been coming to not only the football games but to soccer and volleyball for the fall sport season. The teachers and administrators are really pushing college and career readiness and safety throughout the school making sure we are not only on the right paths, but we are safe. Overall the school is pretty decent. One big thing I would change is how the school handles bullying. Many students get bullied in both the high school and elementary school and nothing is hardly ever done.
