Bay City Western High School Junior: Bay City Western is a rural, majority middle-class, public school located in the small town of Auburn Michigan. Most of its students identify as caucasian, and there is little diversity compared to Bay City Public’s Central High. But what Western lacks in diversity, it makes up for by offering the most AP classes in its district, the most award-winning teachers of its district (such as Saginaw Valley Teacher of the Year,) AND possesses the highest graduation rate of any school in its district. Bay City Western is a division one school and the proud home of the Girl’s Track and Field State Champions, a nationally-recognized baseball team, and a MHSAA championing softball team. Western proudly boasts its award-winning coaches and envied athlete. While Western holds the title as one of the best schools in its surrounding area, its administration is known for a lack of communication with parents, students, and teachers when it comes to events such as half-day schedules and assemblies.
