Sophomore: The Early College at Guilford has a great community and great teachers. Although the trailers aren't the best, the environment overall is great. The school has an atmosphere towards academics. The first two years, especially Sophmore year, are the hardest because of AP classes, although you can get a lot of credit. Senior: I've been a student at Early College since I was a freshman and I can truly say that this is a top-notch school. I first came into Early College not knowing what to expect. I had no friends and knew absolutely no one. By the first hour of school, I had already made two friends and by my senior year, I had friends I considered family. Early College has made me feel at home and everyone there are truly amazing people. The teachers, the students, and the staff are great! And although it is a small school, the diversity there is amazing. It also comes with many benefits, the main one being graduating with both an associate's degree and a high school degree. Senior: I can proudly say that I had the best four years at ABSS Early College. My high school teachers were very understanding and at times I would forget they were my teachers and that I was simply just talking to a friend. Everyone who goes here has the objective of wanting to learn which is also nice. It is not like a regular high school but the staff at ABSS Early College make it their goal to give you the closest experience as possible to one. Niche User: I loved how diverse it was. The teachers did their best to provide students with materials aways. Sophomore: The diversity at the school is an amazing experience along with the classes they offer. Depending on the professor you get in college they may be better than others. I've mainly been able to make memories with my friends. There aren't many high school classes offered since they are more concerned about you graduating with an associate's degree. They don't offer many clubs, especially for high schoolers compared to Guilford College. Many of the clubs are for college students so I hope they improve that after I leave. Senior: My time at Atkins has been one to remember, I have grown so much not only academically but because of the people I have been surrounded by. Atkins offers a diverse culture in which students of varying socioeconomic backgrounds, academic levels, and fields of interest are all placed within the same four walls creating a cohesive environment that drives growth in both teachers and students. Teachers challenge students to push themselves academically while also offering them the support they need to be successful not only in high school, but as they move into the college world and job fields of their choosing. Middle School Student: This middle college is a great way to become introduced to college life with limitations of control it's definitely a way for any teenager to find themselves. I've grown to be very mature and how business should properly be handled. I've created a family dynamic that's rooting for me along the way. And for that I am greatly proud. Yes, it can be mentally draining but the amount of free time I receive from getting my work done makes up for all those things. Although the staff can be unorganized in such important times that's the only experience that will be the toughest. The teachers each teach you something that will help you throughout life. And the classroom dynamic is built to really learn something not just because the teacher gets paid to do it. One of my favorite things is the way they greet you when you're at the finish line. Alum: Reagan High School was always an enjoyable experience for me since freshman year. Teachers were excellent and I was able to develop strong connections with lots of them. Classes and programs were all amazing and really helped to enhance my high school experience. Friends made along the way made it even better, connections I had with classmates helped me to better look forward to coming to school everyday and established long lasting connections. Junior: Such a great school! I've been here for a while now and the people are kind. There are stores on campus and free snacks too. There is a student life & engagement on campus that makes sure to help you in whichever way possible. The academics are great there and you even get to take college courses as a high school student. The atmosphere is great and you get to move freely around campus without the fear the of anything bad happening. It is a very safe place ad the college students that are on campus are nothing but kind. They don't bother of make fun of the highschoolers. You also get to attend the college events even as a highschooler. You even get the privilege to have free parking. The campus has a gas station near it as well as many other small stores in case of an emergency or if you need any basic items or food. Junior: I love it here! there are great opportunities that are offered, that you won't find at a "normal" public high school you are district to. There are incredible artists here with amazing talents. The students are very well mannered and there are little disruptions in class if any. There are not as many class options as it is a small school, therefore not many AP class options. Junior: It is a great school filled with many amazing classmates, so I didn't had any problems with finding friends despite the low amount of students. The teachers are very one on one with teaching, so it helps me learn better in general. While it is a school that has cons having no sports or club to apply to, it makes up for that with the various school events throughout the year. Our school's hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm which seems like a bad thing, however we do get more learning in, time dedicated to study and a degree in the end! Parent: From the first day we toured the campus we loved that students walked from building to building. It felt like it was a college campus, and time spent outside was a health bonus for students! WFHS makes a great community with more than 30 clubs, societies, sports teams. It was joyful to discover that students can find almost anything. WFHS is creative in many ways, there are always new banners and announcements, decorations for upcoming events and seasonal decor for the school appearances. WFHS is strong in supporting local communities by participating in cleaning events in parks and neighboring areas, pitching in in donations, and volunteering. We feel special pride about the school’s ethics. Alum: Page high was a great school. When I was going through a tough time with family, the faculty did everything they could to help me and make sure I graduated. My senior year unfortunately was my toughest, and just being able to utilise the wonderful counsellors and social workers was a god send. My teachers were so amazing as well. Tough time aside, Page offers really great classes. Very well equipped for any AP or IB classes. Before I transferred to page my old school didn’t offer any advanced courses. Junior: Penn Griffin School for the Arts is a great high school! I was able to grow academically while being accepted by teachers, students, and other staff. The faculty has made an amazing effort to ensure all students have an equal chance for each and every opportunity given to the students. Senior: The Middle College at GTCC-Greensboro is overall a great high school to attend. The staff and administrators strive and do their best to make sure all students are on a college level and succeed in all their classes. The guidance counselor is also really great, she answers any and every question you may have to the best of her ability, she helps with the college application process, she provides students with great tools and website links that can help students, and she’s also a great help when applying for scholarships. Alum: I transferred schools during covid. There was not much help to students when online. When it returned to in person again, there were tons of resources to help students succeed. The faculty were also very willing to help you. The school itself is big and there is tons of school spirit. I liked that it was a school with lots of opportunities such as sports and clubs. The students success was the top priority of the teachers. I did dislike that they were very against senior pranks, even though it is a staple to senior year. When you attend, there rules may seem very strict, but as time progresses, you will realize that they are not very enforced, such as the no phone in class rule. It is not allowed, but many teachers implement phone usage into their teaching and some allow you to listen to music when doing work if it helps you focus and succeed. Senior: It's a very tight-knit community. With a maximum of 40 students per grade, everybody knows everybody. Teachers are kind and have closer relationships with students as a result of having such a small student population. Senior: Mount Tabor High School is a wonderful place to attend. The teachers work to prepare me for what college will be like by fostering a unique environment that balances many different kinds of teaching styles.
