Senior: There is a lot of opportunity for community involvement and improvement, which I am a big fan. I am a goal oriented person. I am passionate about volunteering in my local community to improve local marine environment and improve local people’s lives. The school was not incredibly diverse and I’d love to see this change. Senior: Out of all the high schools in the Corpus Christi Independent school district, this one is the best! All of the staff are very welcoming and have a lot of pride in the work they are doing and show a strong passion for the students. Veterans Memorial also has many great programs to get involved with including the award winning band and choir and the many outstanding sports programs who often see great success. Senior: My experience at W.B. Ray High School has been incredible. I transferred to Ray for my senior year of High School and I sincerely wish that I could've attended all four years. We have an International Baccalaureate program which is extraordinary and a variety of On Ramps classes with the University of Texas at Austin. The culture is so diverse at Ray, the counselors and the registrar office workers are so patient and friendly. The students are so welcoming and our student body has so much spirit! I'm so proud to be a fighting Texan! One thing I would like to see changed is having the theatre department renovated. The theatre hall is a bit outdated and could just use a bit of TLC! Senior: This school is amazing! I am senior at this school and the support system from the teachers, staff, and counselors is amazing. The environment from students is also wonderful, there always seems to be individuals that you can hang out with. Nobody is left out and everybody is included at the school. It also helps that students have the opportunity to get their associate's degree of liberal arts at Collegiate! Transferring to TM as a new student was scary, but the teachers, staff, coaches, and other students made me feel like I was at home. Senior: My honest opinion about my four years experience at Harold T. Branch Academy Career and technical, Early college high school? I have to start freshmen year when I realized myself that this high school was the right high school for me, when out of nowhere someone did an act of kindness and zipped up my backpack for me when I didn't realize. Usually someone would steal from you if your bag was open like that back in middle school but in Branch, you can leave your phone, your laptop, your bag on a bench and use the restroom ad go get lunch and it will still be there. That's just the beginning, in most school, teachers can be very unsupportive of their students but in Branch, teachers and staff were willing to drive us to college or buy supplies for us when we needed it. Students, either above or below you, will help you if you need it because you will need it, especially in college Algebra. Senior: I have been attending Banquete since Kindergarten and my experience has been nothing less than excellent! Banquete is a small community, so class sizes are fairly small and you get that one-on-one time with your teachers. The teachers are all so great at their jobs as well. Tutoring is always available and they will work out an alternative schedule with you if you can't make after-school tutoring (ex. before school starts in the morning, during breakfast, during lunch, etc.). This school is like a family; everyone wants everyone to succeed. There are also many clubs and opportunities for success in an area you are passionate about. For instance, some organizations include Speech and Debate, TAFE, FFA, Band, Athletics, and etc. The faculty go to the ends of the earth to ensure that everyone is safe while on campus. Senior: Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS), is a great high school with great athletics in all sports. Though we don't have lacrosse or field hockey we have a variety of other amazing sports in which the athletes flourish! The RFHS football team has gone to playoffs the past 2 years and the RFHS Boys Basketball team are District Champs and went to playoffs this past year! A LOT of the athletes here sign with D1, D2 and D3 colleges to continue their athletic careers. We are pushed in and out of the classroom. The teachers are great, respectful and very helpful. Our Admin. is great but our board-meetings aren't at the most logical hours if students and parents want to attend. Our school spirit is up there, not everyone participates but most of us do! Senior: The school is amazing filled with great sponsors, teachers, and students! They prepare you for the next step to college. Academy HS is where anyone is accepted there. The classes are great and many UIL activities you can participate in. We are a small school but what matters the most is the people in the school. As a matter of fact its amazing you can even enjoy your mini fast food restaurants just right across the street! There's Chick-fil-A, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Subway, pool station, video game station, and a mini market down the building. Senior: Moody high school is a school to whoever. We are accepting to all. What I like most about this school was the academic classes. We are the only school in our district who have programs such as the Health & Science academy (which I am in), engineering, culinary arts, welding, and more. With the academy I’m in, we have a chance to earn certifications that allow us to work in the medical field right out of high school. I have earn my EKG certificate, phlebotomy, and CPR just in my junior year of high school. Next year, I will be a senior and will be taking the EMT course. It was a struggle for me since I not only had to keep up with my classmates but learn English at the same time. Junior: Sinton High School is located in a small town, that has a population of about 6,000 people. Sinton High School is a very great school. The teachers are amazing along with the great faculty and administrators. There are many extracurricular activities that students have a chance to participate in too, from sports to debate club to band to choir. One of the greatest things about Sinton High School is how everyone comes together in times of need, and how everyone helps one another. Sinton High School is overall a great school that stands tall and proud. There may be some down sides to certain people, for example Sinton High School has a no phone policy. You can only use your cellphone at lunch and no other time of the day. There's not much change that I would like to see at Sinton High School.
