Senior: I went into Saint Mary's Hall as a freshman and even though I was new going into the school, I fit right in! Over the past four years here I have found it easy to become involved in various activities such as sports, theater productions, and clubs, all of which are open and inviting to every student. Students here are encouraged to have a voice in school policy, and we frequently work with administration to figure out ways to benefit everyone in the community. Junior: Keystone is difficult at times. Most students in high school struggle with mental disorders, and the wellness programs are a total mess. That being said, being at Keystone gives students initiative. Compared to the standard for schools in Texas, Keystone has an almost unparalleled academic program perhaps only second to BASIS. Students learn critical thinking skills and are given invaluable tools to prepare for college. When I was in middle school, I found the middle school program provided valuable note-taking and learning skills for high school. The teachers are truly amazing and want you to approach them. Because Keystone is pretty small, there aren't many clubs offered, which is a major downside, the student population is not very diverse, and there are a couple of teachers that are terrible but won't be fired because of their emotional ties with the school. Freshman: It is such a warm community and has an amazing learning environment.The curriculum is above average with teachers pushing their students to be the best. The competitive academics are also exhilarating because there is always a challenge.I love how the teachers and staff are very caring.They always put the students metal health first which makes a huge impact.All teachers are exceptional in their field and are highly qualified.Every student at TMI is unique and is celebrated for it by others.The giving at TMI is also a virtue that welcomes everyone warmly. It is a culture that we"do on to others as we wish to be done to us."This results in a close community that gives and gives. Whether it be to TMI or the city around us, the TMI community always finds a way to leave a good impact. The sports has grown in the past couple years as well. Parent: This has been our first year at the Atonement catholic Academy. We moved from CA last summer and our main concern was to find a school for our sons with both high academic standards and Christian values. AA has it all. The teachers have exceeded our expectations, the staff is helpful and caring. We have met wonderful families that have welcomed our family as their own. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to be. There are rules, of course, but the learning environment is incredible. The kids are treated with love and respect. Parent: All of my daughters have graduated from Castle Hills. The teachers are all extremely qualified, loving, caring, and challenge students to grow not only academically but in their walk with the lord. Many times my children have commented that it was through the mentoring and conversations with teachers that they were inspired to pursue their goals. The teachers were a partner in our children’s education and in encouraging them. I knew that what we were teaching at home and encouraging at home would be supported at the school. This is HUGE! The teachers are extremely qualified and excellent in the fields that they are teaching. This is evident in the classroom conversations that take place that I would hear about at home. Junior: San Antonio Christian School has a great community and great teachers that want to see their students succeed. While SACS provides a good education, the rules have become very relaxed. Senior: Antonian is such a great school, that has an even more supportive community that encompasses it! Not only do they provide and amazing education for all, but have numerous State winning athletic programs, such as Basketball, Cross Country and Volleyball. Their cheer and dance programs are also outstanding as they continue to bring National Championships to the school as well as being great spirit leaders for the school. The school offers so many different clubs and organizations with excited staff that are eager to engage with their students with their endeavors. The campus ministry program is fantastic as they offer IHS retreats for students of all grade levels, Kairos retreats exclusively for seniors, have retreats for every grade level, allow students to help lead weekly mass as Extraordinary ministers, lectors and be in choir. Parent: We are so happy that we discovered Lutheran High School for our daughter! She is genuinely happy to go to school each day. The academics are excellent. There are several Honors and AP options (History, English, Calculus I & II, Comp Science, Spanish etc) as well as dual credit engineering classes. Importantly, the students are not stressed out and miserable because the teachers and social environment are supportive and nurturing. Bullying and other toxic social issues that are prevalent at other schools are not present here. Athletics are top notch and welcoming to all abilities. Home games and even out of town games are well-attended by students, faculty and parents even if they don't have an athlete on the team. The Robotics, E-Sports, One Act Play etc provide excellent extracurricular opportunities. Parent: We moved to Texas from Florida and our son was a transfer Senior. He is both very bright, and very athletic, so we were looking for a school that would meet him both places. I cannot say enough about Central Catholic - from the admissions team, to administration, to coaches and teachers, and most importantly, to the young men at Central. Everyone really went out of their way to make him feel welcome and to encourage him to dive right in and get involved. He took very challenging classes and was admitted to most of the colleges to which he applied, receiving very generous scholarship offers. Central's Brotherhood is not a joke - the boys included my son, the teachers and coaches pushed him and encouraged him, and the end result was a great year for my son. He is actually jealous of his younger brother who will begin at Central next year. Senior: From the day I arrived I've loved Incarnate Word! Everything from the modular schedule to the teachers to the best friends I've made! I really enjoyed the modular schedule at Incarnate Word. It allowed me to get my homework done during the day and taught me important time management skills. That way when I went home I hardly had to do any homework. I just had to study. I'm glad I learned time management skills by going through the schedule because I feel this has prepped me for college! Another thing the teachers there are great! They really want you to succeed and are always there to help you out. The class sizes are only about 15-23 people so the teachers are easy to access outside of class if you have questions or need help on a concept. Regarding the school atmosphere, all the girls here are very nice and we uplift one another. Freshman: I chose St. Anthony’s for its focus on development of the whole person. Alum: As a former student at River City Believers Academy, or RCBA I loved the school. After graduating from RCBA I quickly realized how I will never have the same bond with other teachers or classmates. Most of my teachers at RCBA felt like family, I knew I could always reach out to a teacher if I needed help, if I needed advice, or anything. Senior: I’ve been attending Providence since 7th grade! I am a senior now, class of 2020! Great school, but I think Providence deserves a lot more enrollment. There is so much to be offered! My favorite part about Providence is the Fine Arts Department! Providence is most popularly known for the amazing Fine Arts department! This school is extremely unique in various ways, all of which are beneficial to the student experience. Parent: I enjoy the Christian education my daughter receives from SHCA's certified teachers. The staff is friendly. Their is always someone at the door welcoming my child and myself with a warm slile. Afterschool the staff on duty ensures the child leaves with their parent or prearranged pickup. If I am stuck in traffic their is an after school care who watches over my child until I arrive. I also love attending Friday worship and watching the children give praise and reveive a message from numerous pastors from the Texas Conference. High School Senior: This school has a staff of administration and teachers that care and encourage every single one of their students to try and do their best at anything they do! Once we complete a class and get our credit, the amount out praise that comes from the staff is unbelievable they want to and wish to see everyone succeeding in their school! This is not an ordinary school this HS is for young children on the verge of dropping out or students that do not do well in public school settings if it weren't for this school and amazing staff I would not have finished school & looking foward to a education and a career in cosmetology.... Junior: Sunnybrook Christian Academy, is a great school with charismatic teachers. Sunnybrook is a very small school which provides quite a bit of one on one with teachers for further instruction of assignments, all in a christian perspective. They are consistent with victories of multiple sports, and great connections with player to coaches. Every week they have implemented Chapel, to not only learn about the Lord, but to praise and worship him as well.
