Niche User: It was so fun. Since it's such a small school you get to know everyone! It's not hard to make friends, everyone there is so excepting and loving, not matter your background. The community offers so much support. The best thing about being in a small school are the sports! In high school I tried almost every single sport I could, and it was a total blast!

Senior: Life at San Juan High school was a very welcoming school. The teachers and students are kind and try their best in classes and sports. Being an athlete and continually missing classes due to games; the teachers were very understanding, always giving me extra time to work on assignments and giving me extra help when needed.
Something I would like to change about San Juan, is trying to make the school more equal. San Juan brings the Native kids from the Navajo tribes into San Juan. To me it seemed that the school district catered more to the Navajos then to us white kids. I have many Native friends but it would have been nice to have had the same privileges as them; making the school more equal.

Alum: Monument Valley High has a very beautiful scenic view during football games. I would think that’s the best part about the school. Other than that, teachers are very welcoming to the students and parents and they all get along so well.

Alum: I had a great experience at this school, I’m proud that I’m an alumni. They offer a good education and prepare you for college and also gives concurrent enrollment classes which is really great. One of my close friends took concurrent enrollment classes from her freshman year until her senior year. And she graduated with her High School diploma and Associates which was really inspiring to younger classman. Also the teachers really motivate you and almost feel like family, they really love to see the student go far and higher their education, they wanted to see us better ourselves for ourselves and no one was gonna tell us otherwise. So Whitehorse is a very good high school.

Parent: My daughter is at the beginning school. With coronavirus this was a particularly difficult age to do distance learning.

The teachers quickly learned how to effectively use the seesaw platform, asked for feedback from parents/children, and tailored an excellent 3PreK curriculum for distance learning. Most remarkably they understood the developmental age of the children and made distance learning child friendly. My daughter was able to open the program, click on the links, listen to recorded directions, and was always excited to do the activities. The videos were appropriate in length and interesting in subject for her. She also enjoyed connecting with the other children through a variety of zoom programs.

They did a great job mobilizing and adapting quickly while maintaining a high quality educational experience!

In this same spirit of adaption they have prepared extensively for the return to classroom learning this fall while taking every precaution to ensure health and safety.
