Parent: We moved to Carmel because of the schools. They are well rated and living is affordable compared to Westchester. From Kindergarten to 12th grade there are so many opportunities for students to succeed emotionally, academically and physically. It is a large district with some wacky district lines. There is also a lot of nepotism with hiring in the district, which causes less qualified teachers in the schools. Overall, it is a very good district.

Senior: Like most schools, Brewster High School is full of many unique students that show passion for doing good in the world. It is an extremely safe school, to the point where the safety implementations can sometimes interfere with some freedoms that students have. There are many wonderful teachers that will guide and assist students towards being independent and begin to prepare students for real world problems. The teachers here show great tenacity and share humor and stories with students to brighten our day. The only problem I have with this school is the school lunches, as you might expect, lacking in quality. It would be nice to see the school implement more food options and improve on the quality of the lunches that are served everyday.

The Authentic Science Research program within the Putnam High school is stellar, with teachers that focus heavily on developing a student's presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.The science programs at Putnam Valley High school are excellent and teachers focus heavily on current issues within the scientific community and strive to keep things relevant to the times. PVHS also allows students to find their own path through various extracurricular programs, some of which were developed by students themselves. Putnam Valley High School provides a unique experience that is different from most public schools, and it shows through the success of the students.

Middle School Student: I was at Fulmar Road Elementary for 6 years, K-5. It was an amazing experience. The teachers and staff were all very kind, helpful, and fun. I learned so much there, including what a good teacher is. When people ask me, "Who was your favorite teacher?" I can't answer because all of mine were excellent. I recommend this school to anyone moving to Mahopac because your kids will enjoy going to school.

Parent: Have had nothing but positive experiences with Austin Road School. Wonderful administration- teacher- parental engagement.
I’ve had 4 children attend Austin Road Elementary and they all have left there to move on to the Middle School and High School with an excellent educational foundation. It’s a vibrant little school with passionate teachers who in my experience have always been accessible and approachable. Grateful for the 10 years of being involved with Austin Road School .

Senior: Throughout high school, there were very few bad memories that stood out; however there are many memories that I'm glad that I made. Mahopac High School has clubs and classes for any interest that a student may have; whether you wish to play sports, act in a school production, or even help the environment, Mahopac has an option that is perfect for everyone. The next great thing about Mahopac High School is the large collection of classes that can help prepare students to take the SAT as well as receive college credits. Mahopac has a lot of AP classes that personally helped my friends and I push ourselves and get ahead.
