Parent: Love the school and teachers are so welcoming. My kids have been going here for a few years now and we love it. I like their programs to be better than North Elementary. Both my kids feel challenged in their TAG program.

Middle School Student: This school is a great one for everyone to come to. It’s a great place to learn and maybe get a few high school credits if you’re eligible! However, there are a few things I personally do not like about this school. Sometimes, they are very stubborn about changing your schedule and some of the teachers are rude to certain people.

Parent: So far, we have had a great experience with Eastwood. The teachers seem to love their jobs and administrators. This, in turn, makes them wonderful to work with as parents. Everyone in that building seems to have a great love for the kids they teach.

I love that they are teaching Chinese. It gets them ready for a global mindset and will be beneficial in the future job market

Middle School Student: I go to south now and it is the best school every i like how you meet new people they and how it is really big and more space and bigger classes which is the best you get to talk to your friends more and the food and the gym are the best place ever and the best thing to eat i wish everyone in the world went to south. South has programs that no other middle or other schools have. Since i been at south i learned a lot and i was not at south for a year or so that is where i met people i didn't even know and now we are like the best of friends. The first day was so not fun but then after a while i liked it. I won't to be a teacher now that i went to south i want everyone else to like it how i liked it and i want to be the one to give that pass shin like they gave me so that is why i love south middle school

Senior: Morgantown High School has many fantastic teachers dedicated to advancing their student's academic expertise while also connecting with them at a personal level. However, there were also some teachers and faculty that cared very little for their job and for the students and it was evident in their teaching. Some teachers I had were outright disrespectful to students or taught completely incorrect things, yet they still had their jobs. Something I'd like to see change at MHS is how the school board treats their teachers. I believe that if teachers were given better wages and treatment, it would be much easier to find qualified and capable teachers so the worse teachers would not work there anymore.

Senior: I have had many opportunities to pursue different interests at this school. I take part in almost all aspects of UHS including drama, band, athletics, Student Council, TSA, and any other opportunity I find to show school spirit. I have always felt supported by teachers and staff at this school, but I know others who have not. In my experience, the teachers are there to push you to do your best and are relatively understanding. I truly enjoy my experiences at UHS and hope to have another year filled with excitement and learning. Go Hawks!

Junior: Clay-Battle Middle/High School is a very small school with the total of middle and high school students adding up to around 500! With that being said, everybody knows everybody. Classroom size rarely exceeds 20 people. Clay-battelle is more like a close knit family father than a school!

Senior: MCA has been a wonderful experience for me! I have loved being able to attend a highschool where not only I learn all academics, but am also able to learn/talk about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I would highly recommend MCA for anyone looking for a private Christian school. They offer K5 through twelfth grades and have awesome, qualified teachers who love their job!

Parent: We are at CHC because of teachers/coaches like Lacrosse Coach Joe Thompson. He inspired my daughter in 7th-grade history class & my 10th-grade son who has never played the sport into joining his Lacrosse team. Coach Thompson motivates those around him. He is purposeful, educated, experienced, & an example of what sets CHC apart from other schools! He is a UVA FINAL FOUR player. Read Coach Thompson's experience below. It is because of teachers like him that my kids attend Cape Henry Collegiate and not Norfolk Academy. #dolphinproud

Coach Thompson played at St. Mary's High in Annapolis before heading to UVA. He was team captain when the Cavaliers made the Final Four in 2005 receiving the team's Thomas C. Rixey award for spirit & inspiration. Thompson was a UVA assistant & was the head coach at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, Calif., & his alma mater before serving the past two seasons as offensive coordinator at Maryland power Loyola Blakefield.
