Senior: I loved my experience with the Greendale School District. All throughout my school years, I was surrounded by teachers that cared about me and encouraged me to learn. Greendale always provided a comforting environment that allowed for me to focus on my studies and embrace my academic potential. Greendale is not perfect, of course- every school district has some flaws- but I always felt very lucky to go to Greendale. Our staff members are set on pushing their students towards success. The teachers push their students so that they can fulfill their full potential. Along with academics, Greendale has always offered a multitude of extracurricular activities for the students to get involved in. Senior: I enjoyed my high school experience at Shorewood, but I also know that my success and happiness have a lot to do with my race and interests. Shorewood is not at all diverse, mostly because the North Shore area of Milwaukee is predominantly white. I also have interests in music and the performing arts, and because of that, I was able to thrive in Shorewood's arts programs. However, they started to decline during Covid and now are just a fraction of what they once were when I started high school. Shorewood's campus and overall location is very safe. We are not at all good at sports and participation in sports teams is very low. Most of the teachers are good, and the school does a very adequate job of preparing you for college.... Alum: The academic standards are incredibly high at this district, the high school is %100 a college prep high school and prepares the students extremely well for the content and workload of a typical college student. The teachers are phenomenal, they take the time to adhere to the student's needs and genuinely care for the wellbeing of every student. The heart of this school district is with the teachers, however the School Board tends not to listen to their concerns.The theater program is very advanced with a large stage and many musical/play productions. Middle School Student: I really enjoyed my time at Wisconsin Hills Middle School! Most of the people there were really nice and caring, and I felt so comfortable talking to my friends and teachers. The academics are really good too, at my school. For math, the school district offers numerous opportunities to excel in the subject, as they place you in more advanced level courses that your other peers if you need a challenge. The teachers and staff are also super encouraging and helpful if you need extra guidance in any subject. Senior: I attend Cedarburg Highschool and in terms of academics and staff i feel like I have the best of the best! I have learned so much and those teaching me were always there to help if I needed it. Acedemics range from algebra to chemistry to theater to painting and even coding and robatics. It was also not hard to find extra curricular activities. There are clubs for everyone,some academic based and some sports and technology based. I always felt safe at school aswell. Not only does the school have and officer on site, but we are conveniently located 2 mins away from our local police department. The only thing i would improve at the school/district would be the food. Its just not good and i feel like there could be more healthy options. Overall my experience at Cedarburg has been great! Senior: The School District of Belleville is a public school in a small town just south of Madison, WI. In attending this school I have grown so much as a student and as a member of my community. With the tight-knit feel of the town, students are able to communicate directly with teachers when they are in need of help or just extra practice. This closeness also brings the students together, and allows them to venture off school grounds to help support the surrounding community. For example, students are able to join many volunteer groups including meals on wheels, where they deliver lunches to elders living in the area, along with other groups through local churches and sports teams. Parent: Winneconne is an amazing community for families. The teachers are compassionate and knowledgeable. The curriculum is demanding and success driven. My two boys entered this district as kindergarteners and as they reach graduation, we can look back at the time spent here. Every grade from kindergarten through 12th has a team of caring, supportive teachers. Each building has an administrative team that works towards student success. As the district looks to the future, the school continues to grow. It is hopeful that the community will continue to support this amazing district. The elementary school is in need of room to grow. However, each classroom has smartboards, chromebooks, and a workshop setting for reading, writing and math. The middle school has won a national blue ribbon award for excellence. Senior: The teachers and staff are amazing. You can tell that the majority of the teachers in the schools truly care about the students and want them to succeed. The curriculum being taught includes things that will help students later in life. It is a benefit that students are able to participate in many different opportunities through the schools, like all of the amazing extracurriculars. The students also benefit when they get to Franklin High School, where they get to choose some of their classes. Some things that the school district could improve include, discipline, and rule-setting for the students, especially in Forest Park Middle School. The school district could also increase more funding for band and other school clubs. Senior: Auburndale is a great school and I wouldn't choose to go anywhere else; they have all the necessary classes and give options of online learning so the students may learn what Auburndale does not have the resources to support. Auburndale is a very basic small school though and has many weaknesses because of that. They only have the most popular of sports, a fairly weak arts program, and also have little diversity as far as the student populace goes. Alum: When I was at PSD, it was a very good district. I was there from kindergarten to graduation in 2019 and I loved it all. It has amazing facilities, teachers, and academics. I learned a lot and learned to love learning through this district. Some of the downsides of this school is their technology/computer departments are lacking. They don't teach much and aren't very complete; thrown together. As someone who loves computers, this was annoying for me. Another downside is the diversity of the school, there is basically none.
