Senior: My experience in STISD was great because STISD has a lot of great things to offer. STISD has a lot of great clubs and activities. One club that the students get most excited about is HOSA since STISD almost always places on top since STISD already focuses on the medical field. STISD gives you the opportunity to graduate high school with a certification! On your senior year, you get to choose a program that you want to get into. I choose dental and I am a registered dental assistant and I also have my Nitrous Oxide Sedation Monitoring certification. STISD also offers a lot of AP classes to gain college credit. STISD is barely starting to add more sports because when I entered, there was only volleyball and basketball but they are adding golf, soccer, and softball! What I really enjoyed in my school was when we had enrichment day. Senior: What I love about Alamo Heights is how much opportunity the district and area has to offer, and how the community generally strives for excellence in nearly every aspect. The Rocketry program, cheerleading, band, robotics, football, orchestra are all high-achieving programs with excellent teachers/coaches who want the best for their students. However, Alamo Heights has a reputation for being a very elitist community with so much money circulating through the area, and usually the same few wealthy families are the ones in power in politics and on the school board. I believe they don’t have the ability to properly represent everyone in Alamo Heights and it often leads to a very exclusive and isolating experience for minorities and families with less money.... Senior: The Dripping Springs School district was very confusion to creating a qualified learning environment. It also strove to protect individual interests and creativities. The direct is set up into multiple elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Going through the various levels of schooling in the district will prepare students to embody their best potentials for the college level. The district also finds emotional and physical safety a very important necessity. There are multiple protocols that hold the standards of safety in high regards. The monthly drills are a prime example. Furthermore, there is heavy emphasis on mental health, and there are various councilors ready to help struggling students. On a base level, the Dripping Springs independent district has many bright and compassionate teachers ready to instill knowledge into the minds of young children. Sophomore: Personally, this school had given me so much opportunity. Like other schools the more you put into it, the more you get out; however, if one doesn't put in much effort they will still be rewarded with experience. The teachers are all hardworking and communicate with you. Your education takes primary importance however well roundness is a virtue of this school. All the sports, academics, fine arts, and student organization are well developed. The only downside is the lack of diversity among the student, particularly African American students, but this is connected to the demography of this region of Texas than the school itself. Parent: This is one of the best ISDs in the US. Many people move to Argyle every year because of this ISD. Schools provide the perfect environment for students to grow up in and help them know what they want to be when they grow up. The teachers are very determined, the students seem very disciplined and the parents seem motivated in this area. Senior: I have been attending Goldthwaite ISD since I was in Pre-k and I've made it to my senior year of high school in the same place. Over the years the campuses have had their changes and innovations but the system our schools run on has always been incredible. I'm one of the fortunate ones to have a proper education and not feel like I'm lacking in any of my subjects because the teachers have gone above and beyond. The security that we have gained in these instances has shaped and made me feel extremely safe and I can't see myself in another education system than the one Goldthaite was to offer.... Senior: Before i was in El Paso Independent School District and when i moved to Ysleta district it was a game change. Teachers don’t have a problem with explaining something more than twice. You can tell teachers actually love to teach. Students are also very nice and outgoing. Students also help eachother understand an assignment that maybe you don’t understand. From my experience everyone is very nice even securitys, when you don’t wear your ID instead of getting mad at us they are very polite and make sure the next time we have it on. The only change i would like to see is the cafeteria food. Food isn’t as good as my parents described it back then. Although, in my school they bring some very delicious food trucks but of course they have to charge. Some of us don’t have money and some of us just can’t spend as much daily. Senior: I found Tomball to be a district of great compassion and warmth. I didn't feel like any of the staff were bad people and I found the students to all be quite supportive of each other. Senior: My experience at Iowa Park has been excellent. All the staff and students are very welcoming and friendly. The schools here are exceptional. They pride themselves on leadership and inclusion. Every student will feel welcome and be guided in the best way to achieve their goal. They take learning and make it fit each student's needs and learning pace. The school is very well taken care of and extremely clean. The janitors here do a fantastic job keeping our school clean and mess-free. The admin in Iowa is also what I love about Iowa park. They're very hands-on with their students and willing o help whenever a problem comes to their attention. There is nothing about these schools I would change. Parent: Allen ISD has been such an amazing place for my daughter. All of her teachers have been great. School districts aren’t miracle workers and they need the support from the community in order to thrive. I had great communication with all of her teachers except one. They were quick to squash some unacceptable behavior from my daughter and a couple of her “friends”. What made the difference was that I supported their decision! Allen is unique in that they provide some really unique opportunities for students but students must want to take advantage of the opportunities and parents expectations need to be realistic. Senior: I am part of this school district as an online student at iUniversity Prep, based in Dallas, Texas. I began attending this virtual environment as a junior in high school, having come from an arts school in Houston at which I did not feel as though I belonged, and was not receiving an adequate education or experience that was benefitting me mentally. Now as a senior at iUniversity Prep, I feel as though the decision to leave my prior school and attend iUP was one of the best decisions I have made both as a student and as an average teenager. The professors have welcomed me, and I have constant and direct access to them if I have clarifying questions, stressors, requests, and anything else. I also feel as though the content of my coursework has improved drastically, and I am learning at a much more intensive level and a quicker rate. Senior: I really enjoyed my time at Frenship! They have so many niches like the theatre program, the robotics team, and the UIL team. I was honored to represent the school in these competitions and had lots of fun. The only downside to the school is the people. There are always fights every week and so many smokers in the bathrooms. I try to disassociate myself from these situations, but it's sometimes unavoidable because we all share the same school. But even with all these complaints, I understand the school isn't the one that causes people to misbehave.
