Senior: It was a great experience and my school, Whitney, specifically created a lot of events to make students feel welcomed and cared for. The programs on campus were very strong and a lot of it was a good time. However they have repeatedly forgiven and turned a blind eye to a lot of hate speech, bullying, and inappropriate actions. There was a report of a students repeatedly slurring the N word, and several black students expressed that it made them uncomfortable. Sophomore: Love how they prepair you for college. The teachers are always nice and have there best interest out for you. They also make sure you understand everything that is going on. There is many classes to choose from including electives and AP classes which I am currently taking AP European History. There is many clubs and activities to choose from also, I look forward to taking Student Governemnt. I also think it is nice how they provide us with chromebooks and the library is always open to do homework and use the wifi if needed. Sports are always fun to watch and participate in. They are always a way to be social and be a part of the school even if you are not actually in a certain sport. The safety is always nice too they talk about and there is security always on campus. The food is pretty good there is usually a few different options and choices. Junior: I have been a student in the Folsom Cordova Unified School district for six years now and I can say that for the most part, the teachers are considerate towards their students and they know what they are doing. I've rarely ever gotten an exceptionally terrible teacher assigned to me and when I did, the district took initiative and fired/denoted them. Though not all of my peers are mature and dedicated students, I can say that the ambiance and the community of the school as a whole is very welcoming and inclusive to everyone. Social cliques and bullying isn't something I ever really witness, which is great. If I were to complain about anything, it would be the food. School lunches aren't known to be delicious and FCUSD is no exception, but it's edible and there's usually a variety. They aren't very vegetarian or celiac friendly, however. Junior: Woodland high school is a very good school. Many kids in other school don’t get the opportunity that most kids in Woodland high school have. We have various different art programs, many ag mechanics and shop classes, we also have many classes for electives that many schools don’t have. My school isn’t a big school but our teachers are very supportive and guide us on the path to success. Our sports are always fun with all the parent involvement as well as all the students’ dedication. Senior: In WPUSD High Schools, a lot of interesting AP Classes are unavailable in this district. The engineering program is split from the larger computer science pathway between schools regardless of the fact that these 2 classes are largely intertwined. Besides these complaints, I have had a great time at these schools. Making friends is decently easily and it is not very competitive. Works Here: Gold Trail is a beautiful two school district located in rural El Dorado County. The teaching staff and the support staff are amazing. The community of parents are very supportive. The activities enrich the lives of students from on campus activities to field trips. Students have access to all levels of academic supports. The class ratios are lower than in most other areas and students truly grow up together. Alum: I went here as a kid, from grades K-8. At the time, the school was fairly small, totaling about 300 students from kindergarten to 8th grade. The relationship between teacher and students was able to get more on a personal level and staff could actually spend more one-on-one with all students without giving favoritism towards several students.... Senior: This school district really does care about helping their students succeed and making sure that they're ready for the next level. The diversity in this district is amazing for I haven't seen before knowing that some school districts have a large majority of one race. It has given me so many opportunities that I felt so blessed to feel like I was in a place where I could feel accepted and not judged by the color of my skin. I can't forget the school activities that occurred throughout the week! The sports, band, and clubs have allowed me to open out of my shell and go to these events and support not only my school but our district as well. I was even apart of my school's band, and I loved every single moment of it. However, I can say that I wish that some of the teachers were more understanding to us students knowing how we all have different ways of learning. that's the only complaint I have with the district which says a lot about how much I enjoyed being involved with them....
