Freshman: Dover Sherborn School district is one of the top notch school districts in the state. The high school equipped with nice classrooms, well kept hallways, and lovely Staff. The Middle school only 20 years old is amazingly modern with technology. The two Elementary schools that locate in the towns of Sherborn and Dover are very welcoming and enjoyable to learn in. The Sports and clubs are always very full of excitement (if you play Golf, Tennis, or Lacrosse, this is perfect for you as these sports have won states multiple times in the last 5 years). I feel very safe in my classroom all day and everyday whether I’m walking through the halls to the next class, or walking to the cafeteria. Senior: Westwood is a very small town, so the community is very tight-knit. This is reflected in the schools; everyone knows each other, allowing for strong connections. The teachers in Westwood Public Schools are top-notch, and they always provide enough resources for the students to succeed. This helps the students prepare for college. There is a great range of clubs and activities at the high school that anyone can join so students will always find at least a few clubs they are interested in. While there are many sports teams, some are not very good. On the other hand, most sports make it to the TVL's. It is very easy for parents to be involved, for the school constantly sends emails, updating them about what's going on. It is a mostly white school. It is a very safe environment. Junior: Wayland High School is a school that prepares you for college. The teachers help you with understanding independent work, while still letting you figure it out on your own, prepping you for how life is like outside of high school. The arts programs are excellent, however the sports aren't very highly-rated. The school has a small student body, however this allows for a more tight-knit academic community. Academic-wise, the classes offered push students for full comprehension. AP classes aren't offered until Junior year, excluding AP Computer Science in sophomore year. Senior: I definitely enjoyed my twelve years in westford public schools! I think Westford Academy is especially impressive in how well they prepare students for college. However, I do wish the school worked to improve the highly competitive environment and stressful atmosphere. The higher level classes are very daunting, and most students choose not to take any AP classes due to their overwhelming nature. Some teachers and students in those higher level classes can be quite rude and degrading to students who may be struggling or not as academically inclined. I also don’t like how the GPA system is deflated, as it makes transcripts appear worse when compared to students from a lesser community (such as Lowell High) who received 4.0s and took all APs. I think the best part about WA is definitely the staff, as they all care a great deal about their students and are genuinely awesome people that make me and my friends excited to come to school everyday!... Senior: I really loved the academic opportunities I had and the constant push to learn more. I was always encouraged to learn more and exercise my academic curiosity whether it be in class or extracurriculars. In particular, I had a wonderful experience with the Speech and Debate team in which I found a second family and got to compete in something I am passionate about. The student-led leadership in Newton is also something to mention since many of the campaigns and activities are brought to fruition by students. That being said there is this undeniable pressure within the Newton public schools regarding academics and class placements. Senior: Lexington High School has allowed me to further my academic career and gave me the resources I needed to prepare thus far for life after high school. Not only do I find the academics at Lexington High School to maintain great variety and challenge, but I also think that the school does a wonderful job of taking into account the student's feedback within specific classes or regarding specific professors. One thing that I think Lexington High School could improve on is their accessibility to mental health resources. Throughout my four years at Lexington High School, I often found that access to speak with teachers or counselors was limited unless you had already formed a strong relationship with said person. Another thing that I think Lexington High School could improve on is their overall treatment of students participating in the METCO program. Senior: Masco has really nice infrastructure and some awesome teachers. While most of the kids are very snobby or self centered, there are enough chill people to have some close friends and whatnot. Some teachers are terrible, but only a select few, the rest are at least either nice people or good teachers. The food is pretty good, a lot of variety but not anything to write home about. Senior: My experience so far at Cohasset High School has been awesome. I have been able to make friends very easily because the whole community is so welcoming. The staff is amazing, they really do want you to succeed. They make sure it is a fun and safe learning environment. Cohasset offers a wide range of clubs and after-school, activities to get involved in. The athletic programs at Cohasset High are well known and very competitive. Junior: Throughout my experience at Foxborough High School, I have appreciated a hands on, diverse curriculum. This has helped me to develop critical thinking skills, social abilities, and how to act in a professional environment. Over the years, I have grown into a young, mature woman. Looking back, the only aspect I might change is how teachers deal with negative situations. Many times I have seen students act disrespectful towards a member of the faculty or another student.
