Senior: My experience at Florida State University has been very enriching! I came into Florida State University during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so I wasn't able to have to traditional college experience during my first two semesters. Senior: This is an amazing school! No other school gives you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in college curriculum while still being in high school. Students are able to join college clubs and participate in research on the college campus while still being enrolled in high school. The teachers and other staff members are very willing to help you and make your experience here as smooth as possible. You may struggle a bit in ninth grade but after that it will get easier. Senior: My experience with this school has been amazing. I've always been a flexible person and the rigid structure from public school made it difficult for me to do good in classes. Ever since I started Broward Virtual school, I have been getting 80% or higher in my classes, and being independent made me learn how to structure my life unlike how some public schools don't. The faculty is also a plus! They are patient, understanding of everybody's situation and they are always there to help you. However, virtual school isn't for everybody. You have to learn how to plan out your week or sometimes your whole month (rarely though...)! If you are too flexible and aren't willing to put a little time into planning your schoolwork, that can be a severe downfall for you and straining for your teachers. Parent: My kids love this school because there is no homework. My kids are so happy because they have good friends and many challenging projects at the school. At first I was skeptical with the no homework thing. However, they aced all their standardized tests. My kids love this school so much that I threatened them with "if you don't do your piano there will be no school tomorrow." They hurried to practice their piano lessons with that simple threat.... Parent: My child has been a student at Plato Academy Tarpon Springs for the last 4 years. We have had a great experience at this school. The teachers are wonderful, the technology is excellent and I love the small family-type environment. Wearing uniforms is a big plus for us & having Friday casual uniform day is fun. We love special events like the color fun run, Halloween trunk or treat, book sale, Kona ice every other Friday, Olympics & the Christmas music program. I love that the kids can celebrate holidays with holiday parties. We like the smaller classes and that all the teachers in the school know all the kids by their name. I love that he is learning Greek. Volunteer hours are difficult to achieve with working parents, but I know the hours are flexible & the school understands if we can’t achieve the hours. Middle School Student: I like Hidden Oaks middle school because of the devoted teachers and staff there. Each teacher that I have had, has been very helpful in keeping the lessons engaging and not boring. I think the lay out of the school is easy, and I like that there is a security plan in place. My school is also great because of the timing of school. We start at 9am and I believe that helps me to best learn at the optimal time for me. Parent: My child and I are both very happy with SSAS. I have a son that struggles to get through classwork but loves athletics. He has found a good balance and has received a lot of extra help with his school work. SSAS has found the right classes and middle school "balance" for him. I love the diversity and the size of the school. The staff is really helpful and wants to do a great job. Freshman: I loved timber springs. The teachers really do care about there students and want the best for them. My teachers have gone above and beyond what was needed for me and even took in my strengths and weaknesses. They never told me they did not believe in me or anything inappropriate and they ended up making my life so much better. They gave me someone to talk to and a shoulder to cry on when things happened. They reminded me that I am not alone and always put my mental health first. Whenever I was struggling in a class or anything the teachers would take me aside to help me or offer help outside of class. When I wasn’t struggling they encouraged me and told me what a bright future I had. People have never been the nicest to me and I always had someone to talk to at TSMS. There was some things I didn’t like about the school however. One thing was their lack of compassion when rules where broken. But overall it was a beautiful clean and kind school. Go Wolverines!... Junior: This school is amazing, and is perfect for anyone who has a super busy schedule, like me! I have a rigorous ballet schedule, that requires my focus and attendance most of the hours of the day. Because of FLVS, I am able to continue to pursue my passion for dance and get an excellent education, at the same time! The teachers are so dedicated and are constantly checking in on us, and providing help when needed. The course homepage is super easy to navigate around and makes learning fun and stress-free. It would be nice to see some updates in the course resources, however. Most of the videos and pictures are old, and sometimes glitchy.
