Senior: The academics are exceptional, and for the most part the teachers are super great and helpful! Social life can be a little bit difficult because it is a small school, but I definitely found my group of people. One thing I would like to see change is the way the administration deals with bullying, harassment, and false allegations. Middle School Student: It isn't actually that much more HW than other middle schools, it's just a stereotype. Great School. There is a bit of HW, but don't all middle schools. It's not all education. Yeah, the teachers and administrators want you to be smart, but Summit students are good at a variety of things including sports, integrity, and kindness. This school also prepares you well for high school and college, which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes it's hard to take up a lot of activities outside Summit, but the teachers are flexible. Those who don't like this school just came in thinking they wouldn't like it, so their brains didn't let them. You can become stressed with the strive for perfection at Summit, but not if you manage your time well, and Summit allows lots of opportunities for that.... Read 5 reviews

Middle School Student: Ive attended since fourth grade, and Id like to begin discussing the application process. Its difficult to get into this school unless you have a sibling who has attended or is presently attending at Challenge. Obtaining a recommendation letter from your current school's teacher is also an easier option to gain admission to the school. When it comes to clubs, the school is fiercely competitive, particularly in lego robotics, TSA(Technology Student Association), Chess, and Math Club. The school places a lot of emphasis on writing and math. However, I wish the school would have its own sports team because I know a lot of athletes that go to different places to participate in sports. This school welcomes diversity, and kids who join clubs like WEB, PACK players, and another one that I cant recall right now get to lead assemblies that discuss topics that children should be aware of(eg: bullying). Junior: It's not a bad school. There is pressure to do well academically, and lots of academic competition between certain students, but I think as you get to know yourself and what your limits are it doesn't matter. If you keep to the people you know stay out of trouble and will be friendly with you, you're pretty safe from harm. I've never had an issue with bullying myself, but I know other people who have. Senior: I was a student of Calvert Academy Homeschooling for two years and overall my experience was great! Unlike any public school, I was able to work at my own pace and get all of my work done thoroughly. If I had questions, emails and phone calls with administration were professional and efficient. Alum: Excellent school, faculty, and class curriculums. Lots of opportunity for involvement, such as sports, intramurals, music programs, and after school clubs. One of the few middle schools that still has silent reading as a required class, which is great. The faculty is very experienced and helpful with the challenging curriculum. Works Here: This school does an excellent job of honing in on full-person growth instead of isolating academic growth. Teachers really care about teaching kids how to be thoughtful, well-rounded individuals just as much as teaching them to be academically successful. AcademyACL's unique class placement system helps kids to find exactly the right balance between challenge and comfort level in their learning so that everyone can be met at their personal instructional level regardless of their age.
