Parent: This is my son's first year at HMS and second year with HCS and I have to say as a parent I am very pleased. His teachers at HMS are outstanding! They are very understanding and extremely helpful, I couldn't ask for a better group of teachers or administrators. Everyone I have encountered has been professional and again very helpful. He has so many opportunities within HMS, NOT just academically but in sports and clubs as well. This is the FIRST school that he hasn't had a bad experience with bullying. I am hoping that HMS and HCS stays on point and continues to do a great job!

Sophomore: Discovery Middle School was a place where I met many new friends and people. The teachers there are great, they are nice and make sure that you understand what they are teaching you. Discovery also has many different classes you can take that helped me and got me ready for high school such as public speaking and study skills. One thing I did not like about Discovery was that the blocks rotated around to different times of the day every week because it was difficult to keep track of that.

Middle School Student: I will always remember this school, along with the teachers and the students. They always make an effort to comfort someone if something is bothering them. The teachers are really nice and I always enjoy their classes. While their classes are fun, they also prepare us for high school and college. This school made me figure out who I am and encourages to be that person. Tuscaloosa Magnet Middle School is my everything and I'll never forget it.

Senior: I love Excel High School because, the staff and teachers are all very nice and helpful with the students. The students are well prepared for college or going straight into the work force after graduating. The teachers and staff at Excel High School just wants to see every student to succeed in real life with that being their jobs or life itself. I would not change anything about Excel High School. I am proud to be a Excel Panther.

Niche User: I love this school. My children have thrived here. I actully dread the day when they have to change schools. The faculty truly cares about and wants the best for every student. They will bend over backwards to help any child. There aren't many cliques or real bullying problems. The teachers love the school. Staff turnover is very low. The only disadvantage here is that it's small. Well, small class sizes are an advantage but the disadvantage is that there's not as many specialty classes, like music or drama club and the kids eventually have to transfer after 8th grade. I wish there was a high school here. that would be wonderful!

Senior: I love the administration at Wilson. The Principal, Mr. Horton, is absolutely outstanding. He always is so very helpful and it is obvious that he genuinely cares for all his students. I’m not sure about general classes, but I feel academically pressed in my Honors classes, so props to the teachers there as well. My only issue, which is no fault of the school but only the area, is a lack of diversity. For the most part, there is one race, one political viewpoint, one religion, and for someone who fits none of the normal, it makes it slightly difficult at times. But overall, I love this school, and the fact I’m still here after twelve years absolutely says something.
