Junior: Within this school there have been an abundance of teachers who have a genuine passion for what they teach and you see it reflected in their tone when tackling certain topics in their classes and how they interact with students. Though this may be so, the amount of work given to children even before college is a thought to them is unheard of in other schools and thus had led to horrendous mental health across the student body. Yes, we are all very much so prepared for the world ahead, but this was all done at the sacrifice of ourselves. Our priorities get rearranged for this school to have what it wants because we know 'it is good for us.' This pigeonholing is worsened when the few uninterested teachers, insist that they are the only professors that actually matter. A minority, yes, but a very arrogant one. Senior: The teachers in the school are amazing! I can't stress this enough! They are so interactive and often teaches in ways the students love! They build bonds with their students which makes the learning process more fun! Administration will try their very hardest to help you succeed and the security guards are the sweetest but not too sweet. The perfect balance. The school is right across the street from the beach so while in class you have a beautiful view of the ocean. Senior: Throughout all of my middle school years at PPMH, I can say that I enjoyed all three of them. The teachers and staff were always so supportive of my peers and I, and it was very easy to create friendly relationships with them. The teachers are always aiming for their students' success and pride themselves in their work, which makes a great contribution to the amazing learning environment at PPMH. Senior: In my Sophomore Year of High School I decided to give Miami Arts Studio a try. I was extremely depressed in my previous school. I was also scared to go somewhere new and have no friends. However, it was the best decision I have ever made! The faculty, the students, the environment was all I ever needed to feel confident and succeed. In Miami Arts Studio I am part of the Musical Theater Program. I have been given so many opportunities like being a Featured Dancer in "On Your Feet" the musical. I am always filled by joy and support from others. I have changed who I am for the better because now I believe in myself and I am excited for what the future holds. Not only artistically, but also academically I have gotten the best education. I feel comfortable every day at MAS. It was definitely all I needed in order to become the best version of myself.... Middle School Student: Herbert A. Ammons is a wonderful school and offers great program. The IB program allows the students to learn more about other cultures. I took AP Spanish in 8th grade and it was one of the best decisions, especially because the spanish teachers were spectacular. Alum: Let me say smth about Carver: u either like it or u hate it. I liked it, bc as far as middle schools go, it’s pretty decent. No bullying, ur not worried abt randomly getting punched in the face in the hallway… etc, etc. But some ppl are ready to leave on day one. If u like sports, there are some teams that are good, like tennis, volleyball, and soccer but that’s basically it. So I recommend playing outside of school. Some teachers suck, and some will be the greatest teachers u ever have. Take Physical Science in 7th if u can. And PLEASE j take Art and/or PE. U’ll thank me later. The administration isn’t the greatest, except for a couple ppl. So j try to avoid them at all costs. To sum things up, ur going to Carver for 1 of 2 reasons: either your parents are forcing u to go, or ur going bc u like to learn. If ur forced to go, ur prolly gonna hate it. Senior: Charter won't fail you! As long as you are actively communicating with your teachers and admin, you'll have one of the best experiences. Admin truly cares about the student body and is invested in their success. Some teachers can be difficult to deal with, but at the end of the day, there's always someone you can go to for advice or just to decompress. The athletics are pretty solid too, especially our girls' teams! The culture cultivated by majority of our teams are so unique because it's so family centered. The clubs offered are also pretty solid! Many of them would look great on college resumes and others are great to be apart of for the inclusivity component. Middle School Student: Air Base is a great school. I have attended there for all of elementary through middle school and I have enjoyed it. The teachers and staff are awesome and if your worried about a lot of work, it's manageable. Air Base ensures that students are educated about different places and events around the world. For example, parades that we can voluntarily participate in and show our appreciation for different cultures. It also has a variety of after-school clubs that students can join.
