Sophomore: My experience with Riverside STEM Academy has been very rigorous and inspiring so far. Attending since 5th grade, the teachers are very supportive, ensuring your success through very thorough explanations whenever you ask a question. Additionally, though the work is very demanding and rigorous, there is always the feeling of self-satisfaction in getting a project done. As we are partnered with UCR, research and extracurricular activities, especially during the summer are plentiful and recommended. A close-knit community, Riverside STEM Academy is a place for those wishing to pursue a better future for themselves and their family. Parent: We have found this to be a truly wonderful school with outstanding teachers, devoted administrators and a diverse community. We love the project based learning and critical thinking skills that our son is gaining through the International Baccalaureate (IB) program provided at the school. We also really value the opportunity that he has to learn TWO new languages, through German immersion and then Spanish beginning in third grade. Moreover, the school community really is international and very diverse. We love how different cultures and traditions are highlighted throughout the curriculum and school activities. Additionally, we have been really thrilled by the individualized attention that our son receives. Middle School Student: I honestly loved First Ave even though I only went there for 3 weeks. The teachers and students are really nice and outgoing. Some things I absolutely LOVE is the Snack Shack! Middle School Student: Carmenita has murals on the campus painted by students themselves. The teachers spend time after school to help the students and the counselors there are very active and help the students out significantly. My own experience their really benefited me and I wish I could spend another year there. Carmenita has clubs, after school activities, a fitness center, sports, and many more things that will make you really enjoy your time there. I highly recommend this school if you are choosing which Middle School you would like to attend. Students, Teachers, and Parents are really involved to make this school the best. Sophomore: It was very focused on education, arts, and sports; my experience there was wonderful. The Band program is amazing and same with the choir program. The best area of education at this school is definetly, math, history, science, and English, the teachers are very committed and willing to help on all levels, and to massive extents. In sixth grade when a friend of my was not prepared for a said quiz, the teacher said she could do it at a later date with no problem whatsoever. Coming into middle school was freightening yet exciting and to have teachers be willing to help you and be flexiable is somthing I look for in a school.... Read 1 review

Middle School Student: I'm an eighth grader at DJAMS, and I find it nice. The teachers are great, and so are my peers. The extracurricular programs are really fun, but they need to fund themselves. I am personally in the Orchestra program and the teacher is very kind and does all she can to motivate the students to raise money for the program. Other than that, the other subjects are well taught. The gifted program they offer I'm sure is academically stimulating and challenging. (I was not in the program, but I've heard from my friends that it was challenging enough and the teachers were engaged in what they were teaching). All the teachers I had were happy to teach us their subjects, and they seemed passionate. On a different note, the school's dances and spirit weeks were successful and fun. Alum: KIPP LA Prep is a college ready middle school. Starting from 5th grade-8th grade, having great resources! Student and teacher relationships are really great at this school, teachers are always helping the students out on anything. They have a variety of clubs and sports too for those athletic people! After culminating KIPP stays connected to you through high school helping you with college applications and college readiness, even when at college. Alum: Oak did a wonderful job preparing me for high school. The teacher do a great job of not only preparing you for high school level curriculum, but going above the expectation. The only downside is that all of the students have grown up together attending the same elentary schools in the district, so it may be hard for transfer students to jump in right away. Middle School Student: It’s a pretty average school. It’s hard to really review it with the pandemic but they seem to respect social distancing and imply masks and safety measures. It’s pretty average. I feel personally it is really easy. And the homework is the perfect amount. The teachers are pretty average. One of them is kind of biased to me, they don’t really like me but it’s okay.
