Freshman: While Annapolis High School has a strong focus on unity and community, I find that AHS doesn't always have the resources needed to build and strengthen the community. The school is underfunded and overcrowded, and there are not enough advocates for students in the form of counselors, mental health experts, and general support staff. Despite this, Annapolis has a strong student organization scene, with a multitude of thriving clubs and sub communities like Black Student Union, One Love, Future Business Leaders of America, Unified Sports, and a Wonderful Student Government Association. Annapolis is a very diverse school and I have always felt that the students come first. Annapolis is also home to a Performing and Visual Arts Magnet program, and an Amazing International Baccalaureate diploma program.
