Alum: I was at Ideaventions from 7th grade through 12th grade, and it was a phenomenal experience. The teachers give high quality, engaging lessons. Roughly half of the classes are project based, even the English classes, something that I think is great when it comes to learning how to work effectively. The engineering classes are all hands on, where the classwork revolves around designing and building systems. The math curriculum is deep and efficient, the teachers present the information in an efficient manner that gets at the core axioms of a concept which us students then extrapolated and implemented in order to solve problems, a method I find to be far superior to the traditional approach of memorizing steps to solve problems. The clubs! These were the best part of the school, and there are all kinds of fun clubs. A few of my favorites were the Naturalist club, Inventor's club, Math Honors Society, Dungeons and Dragons club, and the Sysadmin club. I 100% recommend this school.... Read 10 reviews

Parent: The Admissions department made the application process seamless. They were easy to reach; gladly returned phone calls and inquiries; and, assisted with the application process during each step. Compared to other independent college prep institutions, RMA is a small school. However, we were thoroughly impressed with the diversity that we saw during the summer camp program; We were pleased to see that it carried over to the academic year. The curriculum is rigorous. The staff is caring. There are a variety of extracurricular activities that are day and boarding inclusive. Parent: St. John's is providing an excellent academic and social environment for our children in middle school. They were not being challenged as much as they needed in our local public school, so we switched from MCPS, and couldn't be happier. They are not only challenged academically at St. John's, but they are also encouraged to think on a deeper level about their faith, which is important to our family. Opportunities abound for involvement in leadership activities, the arts and athletics. The small school setting allows all the children to get to know each other, no matter what grade they're in, so it feels more like a big family. We love that STJES is also teaching them life skills such as talking to their teachers/adults, public speaking, respecting one another, as well as advocating for themselves. Additionally, there is an emphasis on community service within and outside of the school throughout the year. It's been a great experience, and we're very thankful to have found St. John's!...
